Almost-Friday, and I am ready for the weekend. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m in a light layer of Aftelier Ancient Resins to match Harmony in Blue and Gold: The Peacock Room by James McNeill Whistler, currently installed at the Freer Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. The room was originally designed to hold Frederick R. Leyland’s collection of blue and white porcelain, and the some of the design elements, including the peacocks in the mural shown above, reflect the malice between the artist and the owner. The room was eventually purchased by Charles Lang Freer, who funded the Freer Gallery to hold it and then gave it to the Smithsonian.

Reminder: on 5/18 we’re celebrating Museum Day…
