The daily lemming

Ectoplasm (above left), new-ish from Lush, is really tempting even though I don't love their Shower Cream formula: "Lather up with this electric green cream packed with cocoa butter and almond oil to get spookily-soft skin. An invigorating combination of grapefruit, tangerine and mandarin orange conjure a sharply sweet aroma that'll shock you back to life. Get it before it leaves this dimension." Or, I'll wait for Cinders (above right) to get to the US: "Balls are overrated anyway; the party's in your shower with this sweet and spicy concoction of Brazilian orange oil, ginger, nutmeg and allspice powders and what better way to keep the magic alive than with skin-softening maple syrup?"

An acidic yet fruity and sulphuric aroma

Mexico city, or specifically Frida Kahlo’s Garden is where I encountered magnificent Lantana bushes. This small bush has red and white flowers or sometimes yellow and white ones. When you crush the flowers between your fingers, they give off a scent that is like that of passion fruit. It’s an acidic yet fruity and sulphuric aroma, a bit like a blackcurrant that tastes of sunshine.

Skeem's Palo Santo collection includes burning sticks ($24 - $64), soap ($16), essential oil rollerballs ($20), room spray ($32), candle ($36) and solid perfume ($18). "Palo Santo is a sustainably cultivated wood from South America that has natural aromatic properties from its resin. The scent is complex with rich, musky, sweet, citrus notes mixed with mint and pine. This “holy wood” is traditionally burned to ward off bad energy, calm and cleanse the body and mind, and to bring good fortune to those who use it."

Monday, and the start of International Week of Happiness at Work. Birthdays today: Jim Henson, F Scott Fitzgerald. What fragrance are you wearing?

I went with the elephants: Berdoues Assam of India.

Reminder: on 9/28, wear a fragrance by Byredo, Berdoues or Bruno Fazzolari, if you have one…
