Demeter has launched Pomander, the latest addition to their Fragrance Library.
The term Pomander is derived from the French Pomme d'Amber, or Apple of Amber - a ball or container made of perfumes, spices or herbs. Pomander's can also be apples or oranges covered in cloves or other spices.
Demeter's Pomander is inspired by Apples, Cinnamon and Amber, for a fantastic spicy Holiday blend, with fruity undertones.
Demeter Pomander is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne and in matching bath and home products ($6 - $40).

Oh my goodness this brought back memories! As a child, I remember making a pomander for a beloved great aunt who spent Christmas with us. I was a Girl Guide at the time, & I’m fairly sure the method was in a handbook of some sort. You took an orange or a tangerine, pushed cloves, star anise & the like into it, then hung it up in the airing cupboard to dry out – & hoped it did in fact dry out as opposed to rot! Then you sprayed it with gold paint, tied a red ribbon around it, & lo & behold, a home-made Christmas present which was much appreciated. I’d love to smell this – perhaps when we visit our friends in Texas next year I’ll come across it.
We used to make them too, with oranges…I wish this scent was done with orange instead of apple.
