Was this just as painful for anyone else as it was for me? It first made me think of the original commercial with the liquid gold, but then it just went on a tangent. I was expecting her to walk out of the pool in a dress of gold, dripping with jewels or something, but it ended up turning a fair bit tacky in the end.

It was so similar to some of the older J’Adore ads…I could swear there is another with a pool of “gold”. Plus, there was already a J’Adore Absolu so don’t know why they are releasing it as “new” again — but that is Dior for you!

Also the Diptyque style of spelling J’Adore.

They were repackaging Absolu. It took a while to get it back in store. I feel as if they may have reformulated it again. Last time it was in stock was when they changed the bath and body oil, finally got it back in about two months ago. The Dior division of LVMH is so weird on how they do things. I’m guessing Charlize is meant to represent the signature EDP, the girls that are walking with her/her crew are the other variations available, and the girls around the pool are bygone formulations and editions that no longer exist and haunt what is the J’Adore of today hahaha

I like Charlize so I’m not picky about the commercial. I suppose the commercial is intendet for men to buy the perfume for their loved ones 🙂
Bought L’absolu to my wife a couple of years back, not because of the commercial, but because it smells nice.

Don’t get me wrong, great fragrance and I love Charlize. The commercial is just awkward and a bit tacky for Dior as a house. To compare it to Chanel, it’s been the sexier “other woman” in the relationship; A little bit more scandalous. I just feel that the editing could have been done a lot better. It’s like they have a great idea, but it wasn’t executed right. A for effort, but it’s a B- grade they get from me on the execution.
