Bond no. 9 New Bond St ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 13 August 2018 7 Comments

Niche line Bond no. 9 will introduce New Bond St, a gourmand oriental fragrance, in September.

Bond No. 9’s home base, Bond Street, used to be a quiet, modest NoHo side street. NO LONGER. Suddenly it’s a hotspot, thronged with see-and-be-seen young celebs and attendant paparazzi. So of course we created New Bond St.—a modern gourmand oriental scent just for them.

[...] Of course we’re proud to have been pacesetting pioneers down here; we’re also eager to welcome the latest residents and the throngs of visitors who regard the revamped Bond Street as their favorite New York turf. So we’ve created a scintillating eau de parfum that’s as woke, style-wise, as they are. Arriving on counter September 15, New Bond St., a rich, strong, very sexy, multi-sexual gourmand oriental scent. It starts out with a wake-up call: citrusy bergamot, pepper and dewy muguet—the only floral in this scent. Then come the edible mid-notes: soothing cocoa, high-energy coffee beans and creamy chestnut. And finally, exotica: lingering patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood, mingled with feral leatherwood.

Bond no. 9 New Bond St will be $405 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum (or $485 for the Swarovski edition).

Spring Fling was $375, so if the price is correct (it’s definitely what it says right now at prnewswire, but no idea if it’s right) it will be the most expensive Bond for a NY neighborhood. The Dubai ones cost even more ($550).

I don’t mean to be snarky (and I admit I don’t care for Bond No. 9 scents), but that bottle reminds me of the one by that reality show star:

I don’t have a TV so I never saw the show, but remembered the bottle.

This is possibly the most tragic use of the word “woke” that I have come across.
