The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 25 June 2018 13 Comments

Someone who is familiar with the Korean beauty brand Skinfood will have to tell us if the products smell as good as they sound? My skincare regimen is incredibly simple and works well for me, so I'm not really likely to adopt any new products (much less an elaborate multi-step program) but this isn't the first time I've been attracted by the packaging of something from Skinfood. Peach Sake Toner: "This lightweight, refreshing toner contains rice sake and peach extract, both rich in vitamins A and C, which work to minimize shine and the appearance of pores." $15 for 135 ml at Skinfood US.

I’ve never smelled the Peach Sake line but many samples have ended up in orders I’ve placed. It’s a line geared more toward teens/20-somethings, thus I’ve passed them along.

If you just want to smell sake without peaches, try Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=kikumasamune+high+moist+lotion&tag=hydsma-20&index=aps&hvadid=175280631085&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9625215443300677925&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9015282&hvtargid=kwd-159546366763&ref=pd_sl_3eerf7oun6_e&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI372joofx2wIV0rjACh1P9AvdEAAYASAAEgK9ZPD_BwE. It’s very watery (I transferred mine to a spray bottle and use it like a first treatment essence) and a by-product of sake-making (which is what Kikumasamune primarily sells. It has a distinctly yeasty scent.

Skinfood cosmetics are so good. I had a lemon face mask and it was so mouth-watering!

Not familiar with this one, but i use the skinfood black sugar mask, and it smells amazing. Does a great job, too!

I totally get having a simple routine. Especially if it works for you and your skin is happy!

Ah, looking at the mask at Ulta now. For some reason I am also attracted to the lettuce stuff. Eventually I’ll buy something Skinfood 🙂

Do it! Lettuce would be interesting. If you get it, please update us!

I’ve used the rice mask, which is more of a moisture mask (a bit like putting rice pudding on one’s face), and the strawberry one, which is lightly exfoliating and has a fairly true strawberry scent.

I did a double-take because I thought you meant Skin Food (hand cream) by Weleda!
