The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 26 February 2018 7 Comments

Ok, this looks like fun: the Incense Discovery Set by UNUM. "From the legendary house of UNUM - famously known for LAVS, a deeply pure, mysterious incense fragrance that scented the holy vestments of two Popes at the Vatican - a new incense discovery set hails that is unlike any we've seen before. Each kit contains a sculptural cement incense burner in the UNUM style, complete with tong, spoon, matches, charcoal, and a selection of natural resinous incense in the following blends: Dragon's Blood / Black Balsam / Siam Benzoin. A truly unique way to burn and experience the scented aura of natural incense." $140 at Luckyscent.

As an incense lover, I don’t think I quite liked LAVS as much as others. That said, this is certainly tempting!

I haven’t tried LAVS, but his Contre Bombarde 32 is my favorite incense perfume of all time! I’d rather use the $140 to buy a bottle of his Voix Humaine, though.

Possibly the better choice, I don’t know.

They can’t do this to me. Municipal taxes, Hydro, insurance, Visa…

Oh, I have also been admiring this on Luckyscent!

But I already have some frankincense (or myrrh?) and even the charcoal tablets that I’ve never gotten around to burning, so I have been quite stern with myself.

I convinced my Tai Chi teacher to try Unum Lavs. It is smells wonderful on him and works perfectly to provide discreet hints of incense in the class. That aura of otherworldliness and authority is perfect for teaching.

Every time I burn resins on charcoal tablets my fire alarm sets off. It gets *very* smoky compared to joss sticks!
