The daily lemming

Hanging wardrobe sachets in Ombra di Tiglio (linden) from L'Erbalario ("Your clothes will gladly be enveloped by this refined fragrance, spreading it everywhere..."). You can buy at Amazon but the shipping price is silly, so I'm still looking for a good source (you can find the drawer sachet for $5.55 at The Herbarium). They make lots of other drawer and wardrobe sachets too, including iris, spice, rose, osmanthus, honeysuckle and vanilla. Some of them are easily found on eBay.

By combining the recognizable pumpkin spice flavor with sugar, you train your brain and body to remember how delicious the combination is -- and as soon as you smell or even imagine pumpkin spice, your body will have an anticipatory response and crave it, Franssen said.

For that reason, "the pumpkin spice latte is actually, scientifically, kind of addictive," she said. "Not quite the same neural mechanisms as drugs of abuse, but certainly the more you consume, the more you reinforce the behavior and want to consume more."

Guerlain Pour Troubler ~ fragrance review

Guerlain Pour Troubler

It’s been a long time since a new Guerlain fragrance tempted me. Even Guerlain old timers have fallen out of favor. I’ve found vetiver perfumes I prefer to Guerlain Vétiver. Mitsouko is now used in my house more as a home fragrance than a perfume to put on my person. Jicky don’t smell like Jicky no more (sounds like the title of a 1920s song, doesn’t it?) The only Guerlain survivors pour moi are Habit Rouge and Les Eaux — Eau de Cologne Impériale, Eau de Cologne du Coq, Eau de Fleurs de Cédrat and Eau de Guerlain.

I came across (and bought) a small bottle of Guerlain’s 1911 Pour Troubler1 Extrait years ago…
