Carolina Herrera Eau de Toilette Confidential

Carolina Herrera will launch a new six-fragrance Eau de Toilette collection in the Herrera Confidential range: Bergamot Bloom, Blond Jasmine, Orange Affair, Rose Cruise, Vetiver Paradise and Virgin Mint.

Bergamot Bloom ~ "The best bergamot of the world has been captured in Calabria, Italy, to reach the best natural and floral creation. Mixed with spicy pink pepper and the sweet jasmine absolute, this fragrance brings extraordinary natural freshness to the benefit of experiencing a peaceful moment. This magnificient fragrance honors the finest details from family holidays, places from the Herrera dynasty." Additional notes include ginger, lemon, pink pepper, jasmine, vetiver, ambrox and patchouli.

Blond Jasmine ~ "Inspired by the most luxurious and confidential holiday destinations in South America, this fragrance is a tribute to the iconic flower of Carolina Herrera's couture inspiration: the imperial jasmine. A floral intensity constrasting with the freshness of vetiver and the softness of white musk. Playful, unexpected and absolutely feminine, this fragrance creates immediate feelings of a mysterious night, full of exotic suprises and happiness." Additional notes include mandarin and cedrat.

Orange Affair ~ "A spectacular extraction from bitter orange trees' best flowers, selected in Tunisia, Morrocco and Egypt. An absolute fruity scent that evokes floral sensations. A blend of natural ingredients transformed into a sensation of glowing summer, the air on a holiday evening... The freshness of mandarin, almond and cedrat bring both intensity and vitality. Inspired by both the latin and New York heritage of Carolina Herrera couture's expertise, this fragrance is a timeless fantasy with the confidence of seduction." Additional notes include petitgrain, rhubarb, orange blossom, tonka bean and musk.

Rose Cruise ~ "Rose Cruise recreates the queen of flowers, the Rose, one of the finest and the most sensual scents, that has been celebrated for centuries. Refined, floral and graceful, this absolute scent with a hint of the peony's freshness infuses life with a sensation of leisure moments, crossing the water and enjoying the flow of the wind." Additional notes include blackcurrant, peony, white musks and norlimbanol (woody amber).

Vetiver Paradise ~ "This unique woody scent is the path to a private heaven. An exclusive mix of vetiver with unexpected grapefruit notes and addictive pink pepper creates an unique scent. Enjoying paradisiac lifestyle and cosmopolitan energies... Inspired by the charismatic and cultured spirit of the brand, this fragrance brings a feeling of determination, chic attitude and confidence in any occasion. A captivating scent, creating new inspirations and innovative perspectives everywhere you go." Additional notes include bergamot, neroli, cardamom, nutmeg and woods.

Virgin Mint ~ "This unique scent is the result of great search for the very best ingredients from around the world. The best mint has been selected from Morocco and mixed with airiness of an Italian Bergamot along with Gerandium oil from Egypt. This fragrance gives a feeling of endless freshness and a sensation of freedom, it recalls a luxury journey to a glamorous break away." Additional notes include mandarin, vetiver and white musks.

Carolina Herrera Bergamot Bloom, Blond Jasmine, Orange Affair, Rose Cruise, Vetiver Paradise and Virgin Mint will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

They do. Weird to have an orange fragrance in a blue bottle, but it is a nice blue.

I don’t know. They might be fantastic, but Carolina Herrera and an exclusive collection like this doesn’t match for me. It’s probably unfair, and I feel the same about the Hugo Boss fancy collection (and I like some Hugo Boss scents, it’s not that). The step is to far, in my mind.

I’m curious about the mint and the rose, but I really don’t need any 100ml bottles of anything. Hopefully they release something like a 10ml coffret of these scents.

Pretty packaging – but why the need for 6 at once? I find it overwhelming – the need to test them all, to hear a sales persons pitch – and where are stores finding room on shelves for all these bottles? These multi-bottle launches rarely fare well and the longevity of production will likely not be great. This whole mess of mass market brands doing niche fragrances at higher prices aimed at mass market consumers must be so confusing to the average shopper. “It’s more expensive… because… well, read this press brief”.

Rather than spend the money on this flash in the pan attempt at gaining traction in the niche market, could they not just invest in a well formulated fragrance that speaks to the heritage and direction of the brand that will stand the test of time.

Anyway – rant over. And agreed – would make a great coffret
