You smelled like violets

Posted by Robin on 25 February 2017 5 Comments

If you grew up in Miami and are of Hispanic descent, chances are high that you smelled like violets as a baby and sometimes beyond your childhood years.

Thanks for sharing this, Robin. Violet is one of my favorite notes, and I’ve purchased this twice at the drugstore. Unfortunately, it is another violet fragrance that is ruined (for me) by “tree” moss and ylang ylang.

So it sounds like in Miami there are at least 10+ brands making this? And you bought 2 different ones and didn’t like them, yes?

The article that you linked to references Agustin Reyes and that’s the brand that I purchased. As I recall, I bought Agustin Reyes Royal Violets with and without chamomile.

Thanks for the reminder that there are other brands of this to explore.

Thanks! I had honestly never heard of any of them, and will have to investigate 🙂

I hadn’t heard of this, and now I’m intrigued. The Fiesta grocery stores around here carry Murray & Lanman colognes like Cananga Water and Florida Water, but I’ve never seen anything violet. I have a few of these because they’re so cheap (like $2.69 a bottle) it’s hard to resist.
