Guerlain Joyeuse Tubereuse ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 7 February 2017 7 Comments

Guerlain Joyeuse Tubéreuse

Guerlain has launched Joyeuse Tubéreuse, the latest addition to their L’Art et la Matière collection. The last in the series was Néroli Outrenoir.

Joyeuse Tubéreuse was developed by perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. Notes for the 'luminous' green floral with 'an unexpected freshness' include green notes, tuberose, lily, jasmine, sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla.

Guerlain Joyeuse Tubéreuse is available in 75 ml Eau de Parfum, €198.

With Guerlain, words like luminous and freshness worry me — they usually mean white musk. But could be great. I have not even tried the last one yet!

Neroli outrenoir I think is one really wonderful fragrance…for me, nothing better has been conceived in the last five years. I like almondy-orientals, I like orange blossoms and juicy bergamot, but Neroli outrenoir is so much more than the sum of its parts. I love it to bits. I even bought that stupid atomizer bottle…I hope all perfume lovers try it at one point. I am curious about this new opus, but I tend not to love Guerlain florals, from Mayotte to Cruel Gardenia, to Rose Barbare to the worst of all: Nahema… it’s been a sequence of epic fails. However the words tuberose and Guerlain in a same sentence cannot go unnoticed to this die-hard fan of both!!!

Then you’ll be happy to see that the atomizer bottle is apparently out! I will try NO when I can.

Thank you for the rreview Zazie! I wondered if NO was worth running down a sample. That sounds worth it!
I like some Guerlain’s very much, and dislike others with equal fervor.
I like a fresh Tuberose so I’ll probably try it.

I agree, NO is awesome. Rich yet refreshing, and apparently free of those musks that I get from, e.g., Parfum du 68. It has that luminosity that reminds me of Osmanthe Yunnan, a commonality beyond the obvious tea note. But NO has more development than OY. And it is a departure from those gourmands in the series (that I also like). I only smelled Joyeuse Tuberose on paper this weekend and was surprised about it unisex quality. Would have expected it to be more flamboyantly feminine.
