Glad to see the wrapping style. I was once a professional gift wrapper and I approve of the back seam being flat, not folded, and in the middle, not off to one side. That way the ribbon hides the seam. Also the ribbon’s knot should be on the top of the package under the bow to make the whole thing stand without being wonky.
I am probably not the world’s worst wrapper, but I’m close. My husband does most of the wrapping, and when I give him a present it comes in a gift bag 🙂
