Scented advent calendars 2016, part 1

Posted by Robin on 4 October 2016 9 Comments

I know, I know — it's still early October! And we won't start our "official" series of holiday gift posts until Black Friday, but since advent calendars tend to launch early and then sell out quickly, it's worth doing some advance planning if you really want one. Part 2 will be coming up later this month. (Please note that some of these calendars are not available in the US. Advent calendars are more popular in the UK than in the US).

Molton Brown Scented Luxuries Advent Calendar

From Molton Brown, the Scented Luxuries Advent Calendar: "Start the magical countdown to Christmas with our luxuriously curated advent calendar. Beautifully wrapped, our bestselling blends are waiting to be discovered." £150 at Molton Brown in the UK.

Jo Malone Advent 2016

Jo Malone's yearly Georgian House calendar is due out later this month, and usually sells out quickly. The 2016 edition will be £280, and will include a mini of the new Basil & Neroli fragrance.

Diptyque Advent 2016

From Diptyque, the 2016 advent calendar: "Make this year’s count-down to Christmas extra special with Diptyque’s luxurious 2016 advent calendar. Brimming with all your favourite scents from the iconic Parisian perfumer house, including everything from home candles to indulgent body polishes and infused facial waters, it’ll be sure to delight the senses of both men and women alike. The perfect treat to yourself or the beauty-appreciator in your life, behind each door reveals a trinket that’ll pleasantly surprise initiated fans and enlightened novices." £250 at Selfridges in the UK.

Lush 12 Days of Christmas

From Lush, the 12 Days of Christmas, with 12 scented bath products: "You've heard the song, but you'd prefer this bumper bundle right? What d'ya do with 10 Lords a'leaping anyway? This exciting clockface gift will help you countdown to Christmas, and keep you comforted and calm throughout the festive season. 12 wonderous goodies will polish and prime you for any occasion, and leave you feeling more pampered than a partridge in a pear tree." £52.95 at Lush UK. (This did launch in the US in both 2014 and 2015, so I expect it will again this year.)

L'Occitane 2016 Advent

From L'Occitane, the Holiday 2016 Advent Calendar: "A captivating advent calendar with 24 exclusive gifts for a fun way to beautify the countdown to the holidays. Discover L'OCCITANE’s homage to beauty. Treat yourself to a must-have skin care, bath and body, or hand care gift every day with this Advent calendar. Open all 24 château doors and find a surprise hidden behind each one. Featuring a selection of best sellers, this calendar is filled with 24 days of beauty products. Indulge a loved one or treat yourself to a luxurious pre-holiday gift with the L’Occitane Holiday Beauty Advent Calendar." $55 at L'Occitane USA, online only.

Yes they are. Lucky for me they all sell out before I make up my mind.

Yes, this is way too early, but OMG I LOVE ADVENT CALENDARS. I am not even a little bit Christian (I’m a Hindu atheist), but there is such joy in getting a new present each day!!! I got the l’Occitane one last year and LOVED it! If I had the means, that Diptyque calendar would be miiiiiine.

Ok, which amazing retailer/company is finally going to step up and do an advent calendar of samples? It doesn’t have to be a fancy box and bonus points if you sell a refill pack each year (uses the same box).

It doesn’t even have to be a retailer. Sniffapalooza could do it or one of those companies that specializes in beauty samples (but please do high end or niche perfumes! The sort of stuff that lucky scent sells, plus hermes and chanel please)!
