Sarah Jessica Parker Stash SJP ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 26 August 2016 13 Comments

Sarah Jessica Parker Stash SJP

Sarah Jessica Parker will launch Stash SJP, a new "fragrance for the human being", this weekend. The "concept and idea" for Stash SJP predates that of Lovely, the star's first fragrance, which launched in 2005 under arrangements with Coty. The Sarah Jessica Parker license is currently held by The Lovely Distribution Co.

[Sarah Jessica Parker] said the words that came to mind when creating Stash were body odor, church and leather. It’s inspired by a handful of men’s fragrances Parker would wear, often rife with vetivers and frankincense, also known as olibanum and one of the base notes of Stash.

The notes feature grapefruit zest, black pepper, sage, Atlas cedar, patchouli, ginger lily, pistachio, olibanum, massoia wood, vetiver and musk.

Sarah Jessica Parker Stash SJP Eau de Parfum will be exclusive to Ulta, and will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml and in a rollerball.

Update ~ Per Sarah Jessica Parker, "I thought of the name Stash, because the fragrance came to resemble a precious stone – something you have to stash away because it's so valuable." Stash is an aromatic woody fragrance, and was developed by the same team of perfumers that worked on Lovely, Clement Gavarry and Laurent Le Guernec. (via cosmeticsbusiness)

Not wild about the BO/grapefruit bits, but will definitely sniff.

I will too. Even if I hate it, I’m just happy she’s finally getting to do the fragrance she wanted to do in the first place.

Love that ad and the bottle – very retro. Glad to see she is getting a little more of what I understood her original idea to be. It certainly sounds powerful. Hope we can get hold of it in the UK…..(and props for all the bottle sizes)

Debenhams will have it, and I think Boots.

    Interesting.
And no obvious fabrications in the PR BS. 😉
I will wait for the reviews before braving the mall.
The Lovely Distribution Co. means she should have complete creative control within the budget parameters.
    We’ll see………

WWD does not make it clear who actually owns The Lovely Distribution Co, so no idea, but this does sound like her original concept as she has explained it over the years.

Omg! I never thought this day would come! What year was it when she was talking to Letterman about it, and he disapproved of the idea?! Lol! This is exciting! #memories

I’m definitely curious about this one. I hope it’s as daring as it sounds, although if it is, I have a feeling it’ll be hanging out with Pharell’s Girl.

Yay for Ms. Parker and Stash SJP! I may have to celebrate by re-reading The Perfect Scent.

Just bought the body oil yesterday at Ulta. Such a beautiful peppery and woody fragrance. I bet this would layer beautifully with Covet or Marc Jacobs Amber.

I think Sarah is one of very few celebrities that truly creates fragrance. She’s not just the face… she’s the nose! Good for her!! I’ll be looking to sniff. Doesn’t sound like my cup of tea, but i certainly can respect her work….
