Happy Huesday on Friday! Our community project for today (with apologies to the Pantone haters): wear a fragrance inspired by Limpet Shell ("A shade of aqua that leans toward the green family, Limpet Shell is clear, clean and defined. Suggestive of clarity and freshness, its crisp and modern influences evoke a deliberate, mindful tranquility.") and/or Peach Echo ("The fashion and design communities, and consequently, consumers, have been in love with orange for several seasons. Coming to the fore this Spring is, Peach Echo, a shade that emanates friendlier qualities, evoking warmth and accessibility. It is an all-encompassing, tempered companion in the playful orange family.") Huesday was suggested by TheGoddessRena and Olenska.
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I went with Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Bleu but I'm not entirely happy with my choice. It smells blue but not that shade of blue at all. I also considered Kenzo Air (not quite right either) and Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Nil (more of a green - peach mix). I hope ya'll did better than I did.

I found it hard to find something to match the orange. Emotionelle, Trésor and Roma were all considered before I decided to wear la Panthère. And now I’m not sure whether it fits that colour.
I picked bad colors for perfume, I think.
Well I’m not sure. Green or red would have been so obvious. And black and white have been done to death in perfume names. So, all things considered I think you did well.
On another note; I recently tried Thé Bleu and loved it. Not as much as Thé Vert but I thought it was seriously good.

I enjoyed attempting this challenge, but I just don’t experience fragrance visually.
Tocade was the scent that seemed pink and cream (sorta, kinda) to me. But I’m not wearing that today.
Tom Ford Oud Wood- oudh, vetiver and sandalwood, is my aroma du jour!

I’m not great at this game. I seem to be influenced by bottle color much more than I would have thought and I’m disappointed in my imagination.
I’m wearing a small amount of Acqua di Gio (women’s). In part because the bottle matches, but also because those are Florida colors to me and AdG reminds me of the beach. I’m not really a beach person so this is as close as I get to enjoying it. No sticky salty skin, frizzy hair, or sand in everyplace it shouldn’t be.
The real question, inspired by today’s colors and illustration, is where the heck are my fabulous fifties flamingo statuettes? I wouldn’t have them out in any case, because cats, but I don’t remember seeing them after we moved two years ago. This may call for some closet cleaning and a trip to the storage unit to shuffle through what are supposed to be boxes of Christmas stuff.

Another Bronze Goddess here. Never one to associate color with fragrance, I couldn’t imagine why I associated BG with Limpet Shell. Then I remembered the color of the original Youth Dew packaging. (I don’t own many ELs)
Also, must apologize to Limpet Shell for referring to it as Blue Whatever yesterday. No offense intended, dearie.
Bronze Goddess trifecta here too. I showered with the exfoliating shower gel then used the body cream and topped it off with the Body Splash. It was 30 degrees Celsius this morning outside and 29 degrees Celsius inside so there’s nowhere to hide.
A little dab of Fracas–very peachy on me. Prefer Carnal Flower or Moon Bloom for tuberose, but this one totally meets the challenge!
Plus, you smell great!
It occurred to me that CSP’s Aqua Motu may suit the blue choice (admit I’m not familiar w the scent).

Update: Scrubber! This was from a number of samples I acquired over the weekend, will move on to the other ones and might give this one another try in cooler weather, although I think my problem with it is the musks.
Assam of India all over because it is so addictive and there are tiny elephants on the bottle that match the orange and blue hues….testing on my right wrist Mouselin Peche (courtesy of Holly) which I think goes with the orange hue….

Wearing Le Maroc pour Elle, which smells more reddish terracotta than peach to me, layered over Diptyque’s Lait Frais, and its fresh orangeblossom makes it all a bit more direction of Peach Echo. I think AG Neroli would be Peach Echo coloured but I wished for something a bit more substantial today.
Any views from those of you who wear Tauer on the difference/similarity between le Maroc and Rose Flash?
Le Maroc smells more jasmine and less jammy than Rose Flash.

I just don’t have a single scent that really evokes either of those colours to me so I wore Brin de Reglisse, which at least suggests a sort of pale greyish blue-violet. And also smells good.
I think many Lavender scents would do, because they are typically fresh and calm. I considered Penhaligon’s Lavandula.

I had an incredibly hard time deciding if today’s colors were more Florida (probably because of the flamingo) or southwest (turquoise/coral), but eventually settled on Bronze Goddess because my favorite fragrance to wear with turquoise (inexplicably, Byredo 1996) wasn’t summery enough for the shoes I’m wearing today. What a convoluted road to a decision! 😀

A difficult but interesting challeng. I picked Eau Radieuse for Limpet Shell. It is very fresh and crisp and, according to Fragrantica, the bottle has an appropriate colour. 🙂 Not a perfect match, though, because I’d say that this fragrance more energetic than tranquil.

Today’s challenge is definitely a harder one!
SOTD is Feminin Pluriel. I couldn’t make up my mind. I initially wanted to wear Nahema (too dark) or Nectarine Blossom and Honey but the “colour” didn’t seem right to me so this is what I had gone with.
I don’t experience scent visually either, and though a rosy peach scent might have suited Peach Echo, what I really wanted today was Azemour les Orangers – so good in the heat. There was a bottle of it on sale last year for $50, and I regret not getting it – Parfum d’Empire is such a good line. I also threw on a bit of Bliss Lemon and Sage body butter on my hands too, so quite citrusy over here.

I’m wearing Hiram Green’s Voyage, as it’s soft and serene and makes me think of a vacation voyage over tranquil acqua waters while viewing the sun set in shades of gold, apricot, peach, and pink.

Went for Bronze Goddess body cream with Le Terracotta sprayed. Not sure if it’s quite right for the orange but it was the closest I could come this morning.
I’m just not creative enough for this one, so I went with DK Woman, since I was craving vetiver.

Another in Peach Echo; SOTD is “Oliban Grisens” from Phaedon. My colour match criteria are on the banal side: the colours are kind of like those of carded samples of Comptoir Sud Pacifique (Limpet Shell) and Phaedon (Peach Echo).
As for today’s scent, it’s a pretty linear woody incense. It smells austere, dry, actually quite peppery and somewhat artificial. The blurb boasts of being a non-churchy incense so I guess what I learned from this is that I prefer churchy.
From this week’s 5 samples, none were downright bad, a couple were mindless fun, and nothing makes it to the longlist (never mind the shortlist). A cheap week at last! :^)
I considered Eau des Merveilles for the orangey-peach and Annick Goutal vetiver cologne for the turquoise – definitely influenced by packaging ther. I fancied vintage Fidji though so went with that. Oddly, I find it hard to assign any colour to it, but it might be a slightly greener turquoise?
Most of my perfumes ‘feel’ like shades of gold, straw, brown, purple or green – probably note-led, as I enjoy vetiver, sandalwood, leather, vanilla…
I went with Ralph Lauren’s Pure Turquoise. IMO, it is a match for limpet shell which I think of as aquatic/clean. TGIF!
Pure Turquoise was one of my finalists, Petunia. It’s such a nice summer fragrance!

Those colors make me think of the sherbet paint hues often seen on houses in the Caribbean. I have nothing remotely Caribbean in my fragrance wardrobe – the closest I can come would be Carthusian Mediterraneo or Santa Maria Novella Eva, both of which seem more Mediterranean or Adriatic than Caribbean. So I’m in Azemour – kind of an orange cop-out, but it’s supposed to be hotter’n the hubs o’ hell (as my old friend Gerald the turkey farmer used to say) today so I needed something refreshing and non-sweet.
I like Gerald the turkey farmer already!
Didn’t participate in the challenge (again, sorry Robin!). Not partial to aquatic scents, but their description reminds me of Thierry Mugler Cologne.

Elie Saab L’Eau Couture for me as an attempt toward limpet shell. Cooling and fresh scent on me. Color wise, it’s more green. But it isn’t really a green scent. Sweeter and cooler.

Interesting! I was considering ES Le Parfum for the Peach Echo shade. I wonder what they’d smell like combined…?
I stretched this project to match the descriptive qualities of the color(warm, accessible etc.), rather than the actual color. And I just couldn’t resist trying this for a proper wearing today: Auphorie Eternal Voyage. I’m liking it so far. Fruity, slightly candied rosewater soap is what I’m getting.
And that would go with Peach Echo
i find that I am really attracted to perfumes that have Voyage or Journey in their names, regardless of the listed notes. I find that interesting …the strength of words, and the images they evoke vs. the impression made by scent, and the abstract response. So the naming and the feeling parts of you either communicating or in contrast. Sorry, didn’t express that too well.
And I gave it such a mundane description, lol. Interestingly, thinking about it now, I’m not really attracted to perfumes with those names-possibly because of what I expect it to smell like (oceanic) or that those words descibe something vast and almost infinite which feels ungrounding. I’ll go for Concrete or Asphalt in a name much more readily.
I quite like the sense of purpose and adventure in Journey names . Perfumes with Escape leave me cold as they seem passive and bland. I like concrete, asphalt, or Terre are all good

I think my dab of Tresor body lotion fits Peach Echo very well. I can also say that it would be too strong to wear all over so I’m glad I went light.
I was very literal and just looked for a bottle or name consistent with the colors. Bulgari Au Parfumee au The Bleu fit the description of Limpet Shell better than I had initially thought. The bottle looks aqua, but the perfume is green and refreshing.
Limpet Shell is my color today. I’m “limping” around with sciatica, which I’ve never had before. Luckily, I got an appointment today with the doctor to figure out what to do. Being able to sleep is always a nice goal!
Oh I’m so sorry! Sciatica is the worst. I had it about 10 years ago for some reason. I hope the doctor can help you, (for what it is worth, the thing that helped me the most to get rid of it was sitting on a big exercise ball instead of in a chair….)

I have sciatica or something similar and massage really helps when I do it regularly. Exercise that increases glute tone(squats, stair climbing etc) and sitting cross legged on the floor makes it much worse for me. Hope you get some relief soon!

Do you sit with one leg crossed over the other or lean/twist when you sit for long periods? That was the first thing I was asked when I had a flare-up and I realized I don’t sit straight with my feet on the floor unless I make myself. I hope you feel better soon and it’s just some fairly easy to fix habit (I’m sitting with one leg tucked under and twisted to the side right now, so perhaps I still have so work to do).

Oh no, sciatica is dreadful! I hope you get some relief soon.
One thing that helped me immensely was to sit on a tennis ball, which you place right at the tender point. It helps relax the muscles in the area and relieve the pressure. I always have a couple in the car for long drives, too. Hell, I also use two together in a long sock to lay on – better than a massage roller cuz they have more give.
Acupuncture, targeted exercise, NSAIDs, massage, a heating pad and a chiropractor were also helpful.
I’ve had sciatica too – what helped me was to do lots of stair climbing and sitting up straight with both feet on the floor at work. Hope you feel better soon!
I see a chiropractor (who is an Assisted Release Therapy/Mackenzie method practitioner) for sciatica and other back issues and he finally has me convinced (through my own evidence) that the sciatica is caused by a compromised lower back. To keep it in good shape (as a preventative, and also to tamp down flare-ups) I do stretches which are basically a standing cobra, 20 times every 2 hours. (Cobra lying down will do it, too, but obviously it’s not an option when you’re out in public 🙂
The other side of it is to not do things that compromise the lower back – hunching over, bending using your back rather than your knees, doing stretches lying on your back, etc. Using a lumbar support anytime I’m sitting has made a huge difference for me (and discourages hunching over.)

As to finding the right professional for help, I initially saw a physical therapist and when I showed my chiropractor the stretches the PT told me to do, he said “please promise me you’ll stop doing any of those – everything you’ve been shown is going to strain your lower back and make the sciatica worse.” So my advice is to find someone who practices ART/Mackenzie. After seeing my guy, I’ve gone from having chronic sciatica and searing pain in my middle and upper back, shoulders, neck to being totally pain-free. It’s all about doing the right stretches, employing proper body mechanics, and preventatives – not the typical spine-whatever that traditional chiropractors do.

Wendysue, I also suffered from sciatica so severe, that I was unable to work for several months. What helped me the most was time off work, walking, and an inversion table that I bought on Amazon.
I have a fairly literal mind, and am evidently not overburdened by imagination. So my quick takes follow.
Limpet Shell: AG Un Matin d’Orage for Limpet Shell, probably due to aquatics. On further reflection, I don’t *really* imagine blue when I think of this one; it was the first thing that came to mind.
Peach Echo: Dame Perfumery Osmanthus, because Peach.
I’m wearing Regime des Fleurs Turquoise, which Fragrantica describes as a “pastel nectar fragrance”. One of the notes is “morning rosebud dew” (!) I seem to be getting a lot of hay, which I guess is the “Indian wild grasses”. It’s quite nice, and the colour of the bottle (which I’ve only seen pictures of) is spot on.

Mmmm. I should wear this more often, but I think of it as one of my couture evening gown perfumes — not for everyday use. Plus, it’s so *naughty*…

I really like Honey Blossom — totally non-naughty — and I like Cuir de Gardenia as well. Some of her fragrances are too murky/musty for my tastes, but sometimes the level of murk is just right.
This was tough. Perfumes I like tend to associate for me with more saturated and less innocent colors. I am wearing Lolita Lempicka’s Elle L’Aime, which can pass for peach echo for me.
It was really annoying, so now I am in Leather Krem and completely out of tune

1) I happened to have a perfect sample for this challenge day- Escada Agua del Sol, which is a very cheerful, soft peachy/fruity scent. Perfect for the hue Peach echo. Also perfect for 90F+ days!
2) Homebuying update: inspection of the home was yesterday. Roof, plumbing and wiring are in excellent condition.Furnace is in excellent condition and I have the plumbing to switch to gas cooking if I want in the future. Siding needs some work due to the standard of placing the siding back when it was built(2006). Given that there is no incursions of water, simple all over caulking will be enough.
As we noted when first doing the look through the property, the backyard has a Green Ivy Monster(tm) that murdered two innocent trees, so that will need to be removed. As a result of the Ivy Monster, the back privacy fence had weakened and will need to replaced next year. I met with a gentleman who runs his own landscaping company; the fee to remove the dead trees and ivy and spray the hell out of the roots is very reasonable.
The crawlspace had become a squat for non paying critters, and so needs to be cleaned and re-sealed with wire.
Everything else is bits and bobs that comes with the wear and tear of a house. For me, those bits actually add to charm of the home and I would not want to fix them!
3) OOTD: Light floral patterned silk tunic, white pants and black sandals. A huge homemade iced coffee with almond milk. Emphasis on the homemade, because $$$$$.

I am really pleased. My Realtor is working on the response to the sellers re: the crawlspace to get that cleaned up and sealed. Today Ia m ordering an insurance quote and sending the binder to the Realtor.

These were challenging colors, especially the blue — I have a number of perfumes that read as “blue” to my nose, but they’re all more purply-blue than greenish blue. Un Jardin Sur le Nil would have been a great choice, though, so I may switch to this later on.
I went with a blast from the past, Benefit’s Maybe Baby. I picked this up at a department store years and years ago when I was barely into perfume, and at this point it isn’t really “me” and should probably go to a better home, but on the occasion that I do drag it out and sniff it it seems so inoffensively *pleasant*, and a bit nostalgic. It’s a powdery mix of apricot and rose, and smells more like something I would enjoy in a body product than a perfume, but for today’s purposes it does smell peach colored to me.
Oh my gosh, Maybe Baby! That’s a great fit! I get what you mean about it being like a body product scent. IIRC, it was developed to complement or smell like the Bathina bath balm.

Very challenging theme for me, I really don’t think of perfume in terms of colour (though I do often think of it musically). So my feeble attempt is with 24 Faubourg for Peach Echo. It isn’t what I’d call friendly nor accessible really but it does have a warmth that I think matches.
I definitely cannot visualize perfumes. I associate those colors with spring more than summer. A more flowery, fresh, soft, shiny picture. I am sitting at sunset by a lake with a very blue-pink sky and the sun reflecting on the water. Surrounded by irises, pink peonies, bluebells, pink and blue hyacinths and a cool breeze blowing in my face. That is what I find on Chanel No.28 La Pausa, my SOTD. Beauty, delicacy, softness, freshness….
I LOVE 28 La Pausa and have the humongo bottle that will last forever!
I think I also need to buy the big bottle (before the upcoming reformulation) since I almost always wear more than 10 spritzes due to its poot longevity. It is such a beauty!

The definition of these colors do not reflect the picture to me.
I went more with the picture than the color definitions and therefore my SOTD is Juste Un Reve – a scent that is carefree, Floridian-like beachyness. I actually layered this over Nuxe oil so it’s part French Riviera too.
Can everyone say TGIF! Humidity has done me in, as has my heavy work week.

I got my Amouage sampler set and it was a little bit of a let down for me for some reason. I have smelled 10 of the 12 and own 6 of them. The only two that I haven’t tried was Fate and Journey. I just got through wearing Fate and reviewed it. Fate wasn’t my style and I am not buying it for the packaging, as cool as it might be. So I am about to hop in the shower to wash Fate off. I am thinking of wearing Theorema because it seems to match that peachy color or maybe go for either Jicky or Chanel no 19.

These fragrances were instantaneous choices for me when I saw the colors Robin chose. I love the scents and the colors and the connection I feel between them.
I’m not layering the scents right away because I love how a spritz of EdM will refresh and meld with some of the notes in Terracotta’s drydown.
Funny coincidence: On vacation with family last week on Monday I took my 9 year old niece to a make-your-own-tie-die-t-shirt activity at the resort. She made a shirt and then said, “Auntie, it’s your turn.” I chose the orange and green dyes. My gravatar image is the front of the t-shirt I made. I’m wearing it now for Huesday. 😀
And on our vacation at the beach, my most worn scents were Terracotta and Eau des Merveilles.
True confession: it was a driving vacation (no flying) so I took EIGHT bottles of perfume, one for each day of the trip, and I’m not a bit sorry.
I think you were remarkably restrained in the number of perfumes you brought considering it was a vacation by car.

I’m another who doesn’t “see” perfumes, so I tried to let the colors evoke a mood, and aqua and peach say Caribbean to me. Virgin Island Water it is, then!

I *think* I see some perfumes in terms of color but some of it is based on the bottle and packaging I have already seen and associated w/ the scents.
Hypnotic Poison, for example, has a wonderful dark, red bottle and peach and turquoise would never conjure that scent for me but they could have went with a dark, forest green bottle and I would have a different association in my head for that perfume.
Like many others, I thought beach w/ these colors and went w/ a sample of Beach Walk…or a fool’s Bobbi Brown’s Beach as I like to call it 😉 …a bit more expensive and not as interesting imho.

That’s exactly how I describe the feeling! I have quite strong colour associations with some perfume, which makes some things hard to wear with certain colours. I trying to convince myself that’s nuts, because flowers like rose and iris come in pretty much every colour:)
Boucheron Jaipur today, as its apricot jammy scent brings to mind the peach color. I also considered Pure Turquoise, Terracotta le Parfum, and Virgin Island Water, all of which I’m lucky enough to have in my collection. Happy Friday!
Just showered and applied the last few drops of Deneuve from a tiny vial. It doesn’t fit the community project for today, but man, is it gorgeous!
I searched in vain for my mini of Tresor. The last I saw it was two moves ago. Then, there tucked away, out of sight, was a bottle of Missoni Acqua. The bottle and the fringe are these colors! Instead of peach, the scent is more canteloupe. Not my favorite, but enjoying this fun challenge!
I have a little bottle of this too and the bottle color is perfect – it’s short so I didn’t see it hiding behind my other bottles or I would have worn it too. It reminds me of Byblos, a scent I wore in the 90s.
Happy Friday Everyone! I didn’t quite understand the theme for today, so I have kinda been doing my own thing this week. My SOTD is Versace Bright Crystal Absolu. I can’t really explain why I like this fragrance so much, but I do. It’s such a fun fragrance. I received a sample of this and sprayed it on me. I couldn’t stop sniffing my wrists. So, I was able to purchase a FB for really cheap. This is the first bottle of Versace that I have owned. If I would have never received a sample, this scent would have passed me by. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Why ask why? I think fun scents are unfairly underrated. If you like it, enjoy the heck out of it, I say!

Oh, I see fragrance as color all the time, so this was an easy one for me.
Despite Pantone’s verbage and fancy names, I see these colors as aqua – the sea – and coral – carefree summer fun. They happen to be my two favorite colors for summer clothes – colors I’d never wear any other time but summer, and the ‘colors’ of my two favorite summer fragrances. Aqua: the original Tom Ford/EL Azuree Soleil (love its beautiful bottle and aqua juice much better than the subsequent Bronze Goddess) and Coral: Omnia Coral (my favorite next to the original Omnia). Since I don’t like to layer fragrances, I’m wearing Azuree Soleil now and will wear the very playful Coral for late afternoon/ evening fun.

Partial scent twin!
I think I did pretty well matching a scent to both colors. I chose Un Jardin Apres la Mousson. It is a hot day in Seattle, and I walked to work today. I hope Mousson will have a refreshing effect as I walk home in peak heat at 5 later.
I too went for beachy, namely Fleurs de Sel. Looks like the only “pastel” I have is Eau d’Hiver, which is a pale lilac…
I love peach and salmon tones and this color always evokes skin and appetite for me. Two fragrances that come to mind are Rochas Femme and Elizabeth Taylor’s Black Pearls.
Wearing TF’s Fleur De Portofino, my favorite flanker from that range. Citrus/floral edc with a coolness suggestive of a turquoise swimming pool on a hot day. Like 4711 on steroids. Love it!
As usual, I’m out of sync with the program. It’s another blistering day and I’m fighting back full force. First, Corsica Furiosa, which amazingly survived spin class and the associated profuse sweating, but did finally gave up the ghost when I mowed the lawn after spin.
Now fresh as a daisy and sporting Ninfeo Mio, which I love, love, love!

Yes, NF grabbed me with my first application. I have tried Philosykos in passing but it didn’t make a great impression- nice, but not really something I wanted a full bottle of. With NM, I get a lot of lemon, which I love on hot humid days. It’s a bit sweet and creamy, but not too sweet. Some comment that it’s short lived, but I’m lucky in that most scents seem to have great longevity on my skin. The original sample was sent to me as an extra in a swap package with a lovley perfumista here on this blog, so when I wear this, I always tend to get a warm fuzzy about the great people here on this blog who enjoy and share so many perfumes with such generosity. ????

I went with Dune because it actually evokes both colors for me, though maybe a bit darker.. or something.. I kind of have an image in my head, but it’s hard to explain. I found an image on Pinterest that comes sort of close..

I love both of the colors in today’s challenge! But thinking about the hues was getting me nowhere, so I focused on their connotations: “tranquility”, “warmth”, and “accessibility”. So I went with Anna Sui Anna Sui, which has always evoked those qualities for me. It’s warm but calm and balanced.
Plum perfumes seem purple to me, but other than that, my brain doesn’t translate scent to color. And it’s so hot. And it’s been a horribly long week. And my eyes itch from the wildfire smoke (but I’ll take this over having *real* problems from the wildfire.) So I’ve wimped (or is that ‘whined’) out on the challenge.
I did do tea weak this week, though with mixed success. Le Labo The Noir and Berdoues Assam of India were fabulous. Bulgari Au The Vert somehow didn’t work that day; I hate it when perfumes misbehave on you. And today’s Au The Blanc has disappeared already. Hmph.
I did try a sample this week that I quite liked: Madame Gres, a nice light patchouli. And so inexpensive! Has anyone tried this?

Wildfire smoke makes life miserable…..hope the fire’s out soon.
They are currently hoping for full containment by the end of August. It won’t truly be out until the winter rains come… November.
It’s my lucky Friday because my blind buy L’artisan L’eau L’ambre Extreme arrived in the mail yesterday and it sums up a warm accessible scent. I was curious about amber notes and couldn’t find anything ( except the merveilles ambre ) so I went with a unsniffed Jean Claude Ellena perfume ( as he is pretty fool proof). This is not nearly as sheer as most of his other scents, has the weight of a Jour d’hermes rather than a jardin, and it brings to mind a muted spicebomb but whereas spicebomb demands attention, this perfume sits back and waits to be noticed. It also has that faint ( but brand new) crepe bandage smell…is that the amber?…so has a slight hint of L’eau des merveilles which also, to my mind, has that bandage note. Not quite a bound and gagged spicebomb though. It has a beautiful undercut of sparkle…a citrus lift…so it waltzs. Warm, accessible, a flash of flamingo pink on the label ( old bottle design). This is wonderful.
Your description made me put it on my “to sniff” list. It sounds wonderful.
I took this very literally and picked a bottle that was the color of Limpet Shell, almost exactly. It’s Avon Tahitian Holiday – if Bronze Goddess is too rich for your blood, grab a bottle of this coconut gardenia scent. Sure, it’s more synthetic smelling and doesn’t last that long, but I think I paid $6 for the bottle!
You can’t hardly beat $6 — nice.
Did anybody try any Frapin perfumes? I ordered two samples – 1270 and 1697 or something – and fell for them immediately. Now I have to resist the temptation to buy all Frapin perfumes unsniffed. They can’t all be as gorgeous as those two, can they?

Good morning! Yay for Saturday! I had to think quite hard about this challenge. I really wanted to go with the gorgeous blue, but it’s just too cold here, so I finally dithered my way to Myrrhe Ardente, which always seems to me to be a banked fire, not a fierce flame. It seems to match the muting and gentling of the orange in the sample. I don’t wear MA often, but I really enjoy it when I do. It’s a glow of a perfume!
I love Myrrh Ardente as a relaxing or comfort scent. Very occasionally I wear a perfume to help me sleep and this is one from a very short list of things that work for me. :^)
I took the easy way out — I looked at my easily accessible bottles and selected the one where the color came closest to either peach echo or limpet shell. I couldn’t have picked a more inappropriately named scent to evoke “beach”!
SOTD = Pacifica Tibetan Mountain Temple
On the bottle, there is a swirly image that is very close to limpet shell. The perfume weight is appropriately sheer and there’s a citrusy top note so kinda beachy. Ginger and gingerbread is the mainstay and these are NOT beachy. In any case, I am enjoying the perfume :-). I used 3 spritzes and it is still going strong after over 8 hours!
Another one for your shelf of holy themed perfumes?

Speaking of not beachy, TMT was one of two scents I took with me on a cruise to the Bahamas a few years ago. It could not possibly have been a weirder choice 😀
I could see ginger being versatile but the TMF name just makes me think of Buddhist temples shrouded in cool fog.
Oh I could have gone with that one today! I have two full bottles and a solid in storage! YOu smell delicious! I love wearing that one to yoga class….

Like lots of others, I love the colours, but can’t think of perfumes that particularly go with them. If I think of the peach as soft orange, it’s a lot easier! It’s Saturday morning here, and about to do some supermarket shopping, so will be wafting some 24 Faubourg along the aisles 🙂

I had planned to wear Missoni Acqua as it’s exactly that watery turquoise blue to me. Years ago I bought a handful of manufacturer’s samples, but had never seen the bottle. I just googled it, and yes! – it incorporates both of today’s colors.
However, I thought it was Thursday when I woke up and started the day with Eau de Néroli Doré. I’ve tried to wear it a couple of times, but after the (brief) incredible green citrus zest opening, I could not smell a thing. Today I could finally smell it (if the opening lasted the whole way through, I’d be bathing in it) but it died a pretty quick death.
I transitioned to Chanel N°5 EDT, which I bought last fall but have been holding out for warm weather to wear. It’s so different from the other variations, and it doesn’t do anything for me in the cold, but it’s gorgeous and perfect on a hot (by Seattle standards) day. Like all the N°5 variants it is golden-hued to me, but this has a hint of glowing peach.
Yes, kpaint! My immediate thought for the aqua limpet color was also Missoni Acqua. To me it actually captures both colors, since it’s an aquatic version of Missoni, which is melon plus bitter chocolate and calls to mind the peach color.

It does. At least here in the not so hot and humid Scandinavia.
As thegoddessrena said upthread, flamingos and pools = Florida. And these colors remind me of the turquoise and peach that seemed to be required by law in every beachfront condo when I first moved here (not to mention lamp bases composed of seashells. Kitsch = Florida, too.).
As I have absolutely nothing in my collection that fit, SOTD is Bvlgari’s The Rouge, just because. 🙂
I often do think of perfume in terms of color, but I also think blue is one I smell the least. I tend to like my sea scents darker – although the ocean that color, amazing. So I went in my mind to Shangra-la for the deep peach. But I wore Pichola instead. It’s pale green to me, but with a little reddish brown spice and sandalwood.
I put on perfume before thinking about the Friday project today. But it seems like a good match with the peach echo color. It’s L’air de Rien by itself, without jasmine oil augmentation. It’s still pretty warm and humid today and L’air by itself was just the ticket.
I wasn’t sure which of the two colors I was going to be in the mood for today. Woke up and decided that Peach Echo was the color to match, and went with Bvlgari Omnia Coral. It’s a bit literal, but what the hey.
Didn’t pack a lot of choice, but I did have Epice Marine, which fit the landscape here and I imagine as a this kind of blue.
To me, the color peach will always and forever belong to vintage Lagerfeld Chloe. Since Peach Echo also looks like terracotta to me, and there seems to be a summer theme, I also thought of Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Ete.
For Limpet Shell, I agree with kpaint that Missoni Acqua is the perfect choice. It’s also rather good for both colors, since it’s an aqua version of the orange-toned Missoni, a melon-bitter chocolate scent. Another way to evoke this would be warm-toned Aftelier Tango with its note of the seashell attar Choya Nakh.
I don’t have synesthesia, but I do find that I have definite feelings about which scents match or clash with which colors. I would find it impossible to wear watery florals with scarlet, for example, or spicy scents with sea green or blue. I wanted to like Hermes Epices Marine, but the combination of spicy cumin with marine notes and the cool blue tone of the juice and bottle makes me queasy.
Yes, the first Chloe! Of course it does! I knew there was an utterly perfect match, but I couldn’t call it to mind, and even if I had remebered it, I would still have had to wear Myrrhe Ardente, because I don’t have any Chloe these days. I wore it in the ’80s, though, in my first management job…for about two months, I thought I was quite the thing, with my big hair and stilettos and shoulder pads, but then my sense of humour cut in again, thank goodness! Both my heels and my sense of me got a bit closer to the ground and I think I started wearing Climat.
Did you end up wearing Epicenter Marine? I recoiled upon first smelling it and never gave it a second chance. The cumin was so strong.
