Posted by Robin on 28 July 2016 10 Comments

Shay & Blue Blueberry Musk

UK-based niche line Shay & Blue has launched Blueberry Musk, a new fragrance.

Blueberry Musk, the secret of sensual musk tousled with blueberry. With orange blossom, magnolia and cashmere woods to enchant and entice. Refreshing yet rich layers of fruit, musk and woods.

Top Note - Blueberry and orange zest for a sparkling top note.

Heart Note - Orange blossom and magnolia bring creamy warmth to the heart of the composition.

Base Note - In the dry down, white musk and cashmere woods for a refined finish.

Blueberry Musk was developed by perfumer Julie Massé.

Shay & Blue Blueberry Musk is available in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Can’t think of another perfume with blueberry in it. Could be interesting, could be a hot mess…

In the cheaps seats…Bodyshop has a blueberry line with the usual suspects butter, gel, body mist.

There are some, but not many.

Lanvin ME. Blueberry and licorice make a surprisingly delightful combination. It smells wonderful for about ten minutes, and then goes full-on dryer sheet.

Can’t say that blueberry is a note I want to smell in anything – perfume or functional fragrance.

If it’s in a pie, a muffin, or stirred into some hot oatmeal, ok…but in a perfume, I’m with you….no.

I want to love this. Fingers crossed the white musk and/or cashmere woods don’t blot out everything else.

I am not sure what they are going for here with this blueberry accord; in any case, cashmere woods i.e. cashmeran will likely bulldozer over any other notes in this scent. Bois de Paradise by Parfums DelRae uses blueberry to achieve interesting effect. Otherwise, all I can think of is those sticky “fruity” perfumes aimed at Disney sugar pop crowd.
