Diptyque Palmettes fan

Posted by Robin on 26 July 2016 6 Comments

Diptyque Palmettes fan

Diptyque has introduced the Palmettes leather fan, made by Duvelleroy and scented with the Do Son fragrance.

The fan maker of the Queen during the 19th century, Duvelleroy is the only designer to have transcended the times and its fans are a symbol of French expertise.

Echoing the world of the Do Son fragrance, the historic brand has created a matching fan in Danta wood with palmettes in calfskin leather. Produced in a limited edition of only 60 fans, this design is created entirely by hand in Duvelleroy’s Paris workshop.

The Palmettes fan is $390 at Diptyque.

Oh my, how fabulous that would be in this summer heat.

I always carry a cheap fan in my purse this time of year. Hmmm…maybe I should try spraying something on it, since this one is just a bit out of my league….

It would indeed be cheaper to scent your own 🙂

OOh! Scented fan. And yes, I could buy my own fb of Tam Dao and a super nice fan for about half that price.

Plus, that would be super calming.

Tam Dao makes so much more sense. I’m fantasizing about the above fan being transformed into a vintage Asian ceiling fan – the kind you see in movies like “The Lover” (and possibly in the PBS series “Indian Summers”?) – wafting leather-laced sandalwood through my colonial era cottage…

Let me list the reasons no –

    1) $390.
    2) made of leather
    3) worse – of calf skin
    4) how long would it stay scented?
    5) money spinning gimmick
6)fitting a leather fan in my bag!? (- along with all the other junk I already carry?)

    Ok, I’ll take 3. 😀
