Avon Life by Kenzo Takada ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 11 July 2016 4 Comments

Avon Life by Kenzo Takada

Avon will launch Life By Kenzo Takada, a new fragrance duo "encapsulating the unwavering positivity at the heart of Kenzo Takada’s designs and personality". Kenzo Takada retired from his eponymous brand in 1999.

Avon Life by Kenzo Takada for Her ~ "luxury floral - woody fragrance which combines a elegance of iris with a charming sweetness lily and violet, to take your senses on a fascinating journey to the land of beauty." [sic]

Avon Life by Kenzo Takada for Him ~ "Stay full of energy and elegance throughout the day with new fragrance Avon Life by Kenzo Takada for Him. Refreshing notes of black pepper and violet leaves sophisticated freshness and elegance of cedar wood." [sic]

I will update with sizes and etc. when I can.

They do sound great, but the bottles…not so great 🙁

They’ve been talking up this set for awhile, and have to say yes, the bottles were not at all what I’d been expecting.

Kenzo fragrances were so good before LVMH drained the spirit out of them. Think Le Tigre discontinuation (sad) and real gems like “Flower in the Air” (yikes!)
I hope Avon allows him some creativity. I doubt it though…
The Men’s fragrance sounds delish and the cedarwood certainly gives it a Japanese twist in line with Kenzo’s roots.
How does someone buy Avon? Is it still the small TV-Guide sized booklet that Avon Ladies leave in employee break rooms? LOL

The budget on these is likely low, plus, hard to say how much KT himself had to do with the spirit of the early Kenzo fragrances, right? He might just have had good people working with him — that’s usually how it works out. I personally have no idea.

You can buy Avon scents online now. There used to be an Avon kiosk in my local mall so you could try them too, but it’s long gone.
