Up for grabs: Tauerville Fruitchouli Flash

Posted by Robin on 18 March 2016 76 Comments — Comments are closed

Tauerville Fruitchouli Flash

What is it: a 30 ml bottle of Fruitchouli Flash, sprayed a couple times.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US (or that you can provide a US mailing address). Then tell me either a) what note or theme you hope Tauerville will feature in the next Flash fragrance, or b) your favorite fruitchouli perfume, or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so next Thursday, and I'll announce the winner next Friday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

Oh boy! Thanks for this opportunity, Robin.
Reply c: I got a sample of Byredo Pulp recently. It just kills me: every time I dab some on I start laughing. It’s completely over the top and I love that about it.
    I am in the US.

I live in the US. Not sure about a favorite fruitchouli, never given it much thought.
As always, thanks for the giveaways! 🙂

I hope there will be a Vetiver Flash in line also. I can provide an US address.

Hi Robin. Thanks for the contest and I live in the US. I wonder if there’d be a Musk Flash in the future with animalic musks and take no prisoners resins and florals. That would be amazing. I own and love several fruitchoulis, but probably Black Orchid, Pleasures Delight, Danielle (yes, one of the tens of people who liked that one) ,Lolita Lempicka, Fancy Nights, Plum and Angel Eau Sucree are some of my favorites… Though the last one has barely any patch but figured it’d count since it’s in the Angel family. I pretty much love most of the Angel family, which I think helped get the whole trend rolling anyway.

I live in the US 🙂 I’d really like a vetiver / galbanum flash.

Wood Flash, though I suppose the double entendre could be troublesome. LOL

  7. Marjorie Rose says:

Hey Robin! I live in the US, you are welcome to contact me, and gosh. . . what if Tauer did a chypree flash?! Could be great! (And giggling at Bear’s suggestion!)

  8. lillyjo says:
    18 March 2016 at 10:10 am

Thank you for the contest. I do live in the United States. I guess my favorite fruitchouli would be Jimmy Choo Exotic. I also agree that a Musk Flash sounds good. Also, Bear, thanks for the laugh:)

  9. Eleebelle says:
    18 March 2016 at 10:32 am

Oooh, I would lo try Fruitchouli Flash. Coincidentally, my favorite notes have all been flash-ified already, but I’d be *incredibly* excited about a Musk Flash. I’d also get pretty darn excited about spice focus (cardamom!) or a liquor scent. HAHA, just in time for summer.

And I’m in the U.S. Thanks for the chance!

  10. du57in says:

Greetings from Michigan. I would love to see an Iris Flash next. Andy could do it justice.

  11. Luna Green says:
    18 March 2016 at 10:58 am

I would be all over a Jasmine Flash. Though I am super-curious about this Fruitchouli Flash, it could be a love or a hate. Robin, I am hoping there’s a review on the way?

I live in sunny Cleveland, Ohio.

  12. Coumarin says:
    18 March 2016 at 11:13 am

I’d be delighted to try this. I hope for something spicy, maybe ginger flash? Or gingerbread flash? Yum!

    I’m in the US.

  13. Gary says:
    18 March 2016 at 11:18 am

Hi, I live in the US and would love Tauerville to do an oud flash!

  14. sarcon says:
    18 March 2016 at 11:35 am

oh cool, I would love to try this! I live in the US.

I guess my favorite “fruitchouli” would be Timbuktu by L’Artisan, with that tart mango note.

other patchoulis I love are Clinique Aromatics Elixir and Attar Bazaar Tunisian Patchouli

yes, a chypre flash would be great, or maybe a cedar flash?

  15. JadainGA says:

    I live in the US….

Next time, maybe Mr. Tauer will hit us with some rice powder? 🙂

  16. jirish says:

  17. gerbick says:

I live in the US… Tauer should do something like an ambergris flash.

  18. Petunia says:
    18 March 2016 at 11:53 am

    Hi Robin,

Thanks for the opportunity. I live in the US. My favorite fruitchouli is the original Jimmy Choo.

I agree with several others that I’d like to see a chypre flash.

  19. Elisa says:
    18 March 2016 at 12:05 pm

I’m in the US! I too love the idea of a chypre flash. Favorite fruitchouli has to be the classic Angel…

  20. hepburnbelle says:
    18 March 2016 at 12:13 pm

I’m in the US! I’m going through a major Vetiver moment, so I’d love to see a vetiver based flash. I’d also love a violet flash. My favorite fruitchouli is probably Lolita Lempicka.

  21. thescentfactory says:
    18 March 2016 at 12:16 pm

I live in the USA and I’m not sure if I have a favorite Fruitchouli fragrance or if I ever sniffed any. Lol.

  22. Wendysue says:
    18 March 2016 at 12:24 pm

Hi and thanks for the opportunity.
    I’m in the U.S.
I’d like to see a Jasmine Flash. Even when I’m not sure about the “flash” fragrances at first, I end up finding something intriguing about each one. Bring them on!!

  23. Filomena says:
    18 March 2016 at 12:42 pm

I live in the U.S. and thank you for this opportunity.
I have a bottle of Byredo Pulp but spray my rooms with it–not myself.
I would like to see an Iris flash.

  24. samberg says:
    18 March 2016 at 1:11 pm

I would promise my firstborn child to any perfumer who could do justice to the magical lil orbs of blueberry.

I’m in the USA, thanks so much for the generous drawing.

  25. LisaInDenver says:
    18 March 2016 at 1:47 pm

I know it’s a long shot, but I’d love to see what Andy could do with benzoin. My credit card trembles at the prospect of Benzoin Flash!

I’m in the US. Thanks for the opportunity!

  26. caffeinequeen says:
    18 March 2016 at 2:08 pm

    I live in the US.

My favorite fruitchouli is definitely Angel.

    Thank you for the giveaway!

  27. Kelly says:
    18 March 2016 at 2:27 pm

I’m in the US, thanks for the giveaway! I love lots of the suggestions (jasmine or vetiver flash, yum!). I’d love to see what Mr. Tauer would do with an Iris Flash!

  28. Sun Mi says:
    18 March 2016 at 3:21 pm

Thanks for this great giveaway! I haven’t actually tried many fruitchoulis, or any of the Flashes, but I’m hoping to soon. I’m searching for a good milky fragrance, so I’m interested to see how Andy would interpret a Milky Flash! I’m in the US. 🙂

  29. Jalapeno says:
    18 March 2016 at 3:58 pm

Thanks for the giveaway, Robin. Yes, I am in the US.

    A) Several other people have mentioned a Vetiver Flash. I have yet to try anything from Andy Tauer, but that would be a great start. So would Jasmine.

    B) I guess one of my favorite fruitchoulis is Angel. I know I have a couple of things that are also considered such, but I can’t recall what they are at the moment.

    C) Also laughed at Bear’s comment!

  30. tilly says:
    18 March 2016 at 4:31 pm

I live in the US. My favorite fruitchouli, is *gasp* Chanel Chance. I know it doesn’t get much love around here, but it was one of my first adult perfumes, and it brings back good memories 🙂

  31. mjane3 says:
    18 March 2016 at 5:52 pm

I’m in the US and have never really tried a “fruitchouli,” though am quite curious!

I’d love to see an Iris Flash or a Violet Flash. Or even a Leather Flash.

  32. She-ra says:
    18 March 2016 at 6:32 pm

I’m in the US and tried Empressa recently which is a fruitchouli.

I agree w/ mjane3 and would like to see an Iris Flash next.

  33. bastet says:
    18 March 2016 at 7:00 pm

I’m in the US and would love to try this perfume, as I’ve loved all the other Tauerville Flashes. One of my favorite notes is jasmine, so I’d like to see a Jasmine Flash. And my favorite fruitchouli is Angel (but just one small spray).

  34. PhinClio says:
    18 March 2016 at 7:07 pm

I’m going to go controversial and suggest a Cumin Flash.

I’m in the US … and thanks for the draw!

  35. thomkallor says:
    18 March 2016 at 7:47 pm

I live in the US and have never sampled anything from this house.
I wanna say I’m a huge lurker and love NST; but I’m kinda stuck on the gendered fragrance notion and m really trying to work on that 🙂

  36. Elizabeth says:
    18 March 2016 at 7:58 pm

I live in the U.S. I think he should do an Iris next!

  37. Yurpdod says:
    18 March 2016 at 8:52 pm

I live in the US and I would love it if he did a Tuberose Flash next!

  38. BigslyFragrance says:
    18 March 2016 at 11:11 pm

I’m in the USA and I think we need an Oud Flash. Just kidding! I’d say coffee as the dominant note would be interesting (as in black, dark roast coffee).

  39. bookwyrmsmith says:
    18 March 2016 at 11:57 pm

I’m in the USA and would like a spice flash – but anything Andy does is interesting. I’ve only tried a few sample sizes from LuckyScent so far though.
    Snicker at Bear’s comment.

  40. sweetgrass says:
    19 March 2016 at 12:30 am

I live in the US and of course you can use my email. I haven’t tried any of the Flash fragrances and am curious about this one. As for any others I’d like to see, I would second whoever said they’d like to see an iris one.

  41. Taffy says:
    19 March 2016 at 2:28 am

    I live in the U.S.

Perhaps Andy Tauer would create a You’re Pronouncing it Wrong Chypre Flash.

  42. nebbe says:
    19 March 2016 at 2:31 am

USA here! Would love to see his take on jasmine. Jasmine Flash please!!!!
    Oooh, or Sandalwood Flash!

Every now and then I’m in the mood to wear Miss Dior Cherie although I much prefer Miss Dior for my daily wear. I think the former is considered a fruitchouli. I live in the U.S.

  46. aswalls2000 says:
    19 March 2016 at 6:32 pm

I would love to see an Oud Flash or a Chypre Flash next!

I’m in the U.S. Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  47. minteacup says:
    19 March 2016 at 7:19 pm

I am not ashamed to say that I like a good fruitchouli. They can go horribly wrong, yes, but with an artist’s touch and quality ingredients they can be so fun. I can think of plenty of “flashes” I’d like to see but I’m not familiar enough with Andy Tauer’s body of work to say if a Mimosa or Lilac flash would fit in with the aesthetic… but I could totally go for a Myrrh or Opoponax Flash. I am in the US, thanks for the draw!

  48. jepster says:
    20 March 2016 at 2:53 pm

Hey Robin — I live in the USA and would love to win this! I’m a jasmine girl, so I would love a Jasmine Flash. But, how about something fresh and herbal, like Basil Flash!

  49. Gennyleigh says:

I would love to smell a Vetiver Flash. Thanks for the giveaway!

    I live in the US.

  50. Nightingale says:
    21 March 2016 at 1:37 am

I live in the US and sadly have not tried anything from Andy Tauer. I’m also sad that I’ve been so busy with work and life that I’m days behind in reading NST. Thanks for the draw.

  51. Vlada says:

Hi, live in the US, thanks for the giveaway.

Not too sure about ‘fruitcholi’ but if has any peach in it we’re half way there! 🙂

  55. Nicrobliz says:
    22 March 2016 at 2:42 pm

I hope there will be a Cedar Flash soon. I can provide a US address.

  56. Iso Be Super says:
    23 March 2016 at 12:40 am

I live in the US. Don’t really own a fruit patchouli (hence would be interesting to win). Patchouli frags with heavy amber or gourmand (most of them) are hard to pull off in warmer use. But this one sounds workable here’s hoping for the win.

  57. LizzieB says:
    23 March 2016 at 9:40 am

Thanks! I live in the US, and I’m jumping on the Vetiver bandwagon. Or maybe a truly tropical flower one…

  58. AnnS says:
    23 March 2016 at 9:50 am

I live in the usa. You may use my email addy. My wish is the next flash fragrance will feature a really interesting vetiver with lots of herbs. Cheers!

  59. PriscillaE says:
    23 March 2016 at 9:52 am

I live in the US and I haven’t tried Tauer, so I have no opinion. I think fruitchouli sounds intriguing, but I’m not familiar with it, or what others may be out there.

  65. Sajini says:
    23 March 2016 at 2:32 pm

    Yes please! And thanks Robin.
I live in the US and echo others’ desire for a floral skankflutter or a gourmand skankstew from Andy Tauer.

Hello Robin. Thanks so much for yet another fabulous offer. I live in the U.S. and you can definitely use my email address.
I would love, love, love for Tauerville to feature a “fig” or “peony” Flash fragrance.
I will have to say my favorite fruitchouli perfume would be Byredo Pulp – what an amazing scent!

  68. Meg O. says:
    23 March 2016 at 8:05 pm

I’m in the US and want to say,

    “La vie est belle, vraiment.”

Also must share: there is a woman at afternoon school pick up who announces her arrival each day with La Vie est Belle. The scent cloud appears before she does. That’s the way to wear perfume. GO BIG or go home. 🙂

  71. Melinda says:

Ooh! I have a secret fondness for fruitchouli, I admit it 🙂 How to pick just one!? I tried the M. Micallef Mon Parfum recently and quite enjoyed it, though it’s hard to see buying it when NR for Her is available for half the price. (Yes in the U.S.!)

  73. Laurels says:
    24 March 2016 at 12:18 am

I do live in the US. Favorite fruitchoulis (so far): Histoires de Parfums 1804, and Badgley Mischka.

  74. pixel says:
    24 March 2016 at 12:33 am

I live in the US. I’d probably want Vetiver Flash, but he’s already done a Tauerville Vetiver & Petitgrain… so how about Lavender Flash? I really like what he did with lavender in his Richard Luscher Britos scent.

  75. Connie says:
    24 March 2016 at 6:41 am

I live in the US! I would love for Tauerville’s next perfume to focus on peach, lilac, or musk. Would be so interesting to see his take on those notes.

  76. emmalkerry says:
    24 March 2016 at 9:43 am

I live in the United States. I hope that the next Tauerville will be a dry, deserty musk, or perhaps a jasmine. I love the Rose Flash; all jammy, warm richness; it’s my default perfume, when I have no other strong thought what to wear, as it’s so reliably delightful.
