“This new logo is based on energy and modernity. I wanted to create a distinct visual impact, a timeless architecture. It synthesizes a universe that will long leave its mark on the Maison’s creations.” -Thierry Mugler on Facebook

Hmmm maybe I’m cranky and old, but set the trends, don’t follow them.
    How about MUG instead? LOL
And I like the brand. More caffeine, please.

Agree! Old font and whole name looked much more distinctive.

I always thought Mugler to be a glamorous, fantasy brand. This new logo doesn’t fit for me.

That logo got so simplified. Do you see a similar pattern? Guerlain’s new logo looks almost like the same font…

I guess they’re copying Dior, which was presumably copying Chanel. I guess these simple font, one-word black & white logos are meant to convey luxury. But the R in this font is particularly ugly, especially in the smaller size at the top of their website:

        You’re absolutely right, so ugly!

The most beautiful R is the “R” of Prada 😀

Prada’s font is perfect — simple but extremely distinctive. Plus they were smart enough to start out with just the last name, so didn’t have to look silly dropping the first name later!

Ugly and boring. I loved their original logo.
