Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles (& some other stuff) 2016, part 3

Posted by Robin on 8 March 2016 21 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today's post includes collector editions from Yves Saint Laurent, Guerlain and Viktor & Rolf; new travel sizes of Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess and Gucci Bamboo; and a new Eau de Parfum concentration of Kenzo Homme.

Yves Saint Laurent Paris Premières Roses 2016

From Yves Saint Laurent, the 2016 edition of Paris Premières Roses: "Inspired by Parisian nights, this limited-edition bottle of Paris Premieres Roses is splashed with hearts and stars that are iconic symbols of monsieur Yves Saint Laurent. The fragrance inside is bright and modern, a fresh interpretation of the original scent dedicated to the city of Paris." In 125 ml, $95 at Nordstrom.

Guerlain Mitsouko Arita Porcelain Lab edition

From Guerlain, a limited edition of Mitsouko created by the Arita Porcelain Lab in Japan. Due to launch in May, around ¥47.000. (image via Arita Porcelain Lab at Facebook, found via Monsieur Guerlain at Facebook)

Viktor & Rolf Bonbon, another Swarovski edition

From Viktor & Rolf, a Swarovski edition of Bonbon (they've done so many I am not 100% sure I have not announced this one before, sorry if it's a repeat): "Sculpted to perfection, the iconic BONBON bow embodies Viktor & Rolf's haute couture spirit. Adorned with glittering Swarovski crystals, this limited-edition bottle is as an [sic] indulgent as the fragrance inside." $325 for 50 ml at Bloomingdales.

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess travel spray

From Estée Lauder, a limited edition travel spray of Bronze Goddess: "The original, alluring Eau Fraîche you know and love—now in a go-anywhere refillable twist atomizer with three included refills." $58 for 54 ml at Neiman Marcus.

Gucci Bamboo luxury purse edition

From Gucci, a limited edition travel spray of Bamboo: "Gucci revisits one of its most recognizable icons: the Bamboo—reinterpreted in a modern way. Taking inspiration from the symbolism of strength and elegance, this alluring fragrance translates the essence of today’s multifaceted woman." $39 for 15 ml at Sephora (there is also a "regular" rollerball without the fancy case, 7.4 ml for $33).

Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum

From Kenzo, a new Eau de Parfum concentration of Kenzo Homme, with added 'intensity and contrast'. Notes include citrus, cardamom, mint, aquatic accord, sandalwood, vetiver, cedar and vanilla. Available in 50 and 100 ml at Marionnaud.

I did not even figure out the $ amount since I can’t have one in any case, but it’s lovely.

At current exchange rates, it’s about $414. Way too pricey for me, but an absolutely stunning bottle; one of the few that justifies the price!

Mitsouko is the clear winner, but the atomiser of Bamboo is really nice! What a pity I don’t like the scent.

I agree, plus, reasonably affordable! But I don’t like it either.

Ha, I do like the scent but I already bought my travel size in the regular ol’ bottle. If only I knew!

Lol! Yup. Time to make those millions! Then again, wanting and not having builds character 😉

Not to doubt your ability to create massive wealth, or mine, but guessing we’ll find ourselves rich in character first. Oh well!

Lol! That’s my motto. My mom has told me this my whole life! She used to say, “Who do you think you are, Princess Diana”? Lol! I miss Diana. 🙁

I am all over this thread, but wanted to also note that I want that Bronze Goddess twist-n-spray business too. Too bad I already have my full bottle from 2014.

    Gah. Building character…..buillllllding character……

If that Mitsouko bottle is available here at the USD equivalent of the Yen price, one will join my collection – it is GORGEOUS. It’s too bad that I don’t “get” Mitsouko. Perhaps one of these days I will. The cost is the equivalent of 2 Chanel 15 mL extrait bottles.
