Parfums MDCI Les Indes Galantes ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 30 November 2015 11 Comments

Parfums MDCI Les Indes Galantes

French niche line Parfums MDCI has launched Les Indes Galantes, a new "exotic gourmand" perfume for women.

The name “Les Indes Galantes” which translates as “The Amorous Indies” is drawn from a so-called Ballet héroïque, an opera ballet by the 18th century French musician Jean-François Rameau.

This fragrance represents the second stage in a long olfactory journey across the globe, that began in Japan with the fragrance Cio Cio San...

[...] A wealth of exciting and exotic notes accompany us on our travels, where sun-drenched Mediterranean bergamot contrasts with the spicy accents of Persian cinnamon and a rich note of Vanilla from the Americas vies with the masculine and characteristic smell of leather.

Les Indes Galantes was developed by perfumer Cécile Zarokian. Additional notes include orange, almond, raspberry, coriander, clove, geranium, gourmand notes, frankincense, benzoin and labdanum.

Parfums MDCI Les Indes Galantes can be found now at First in Fragrance in Germany, in 75 ml Eau de Parfum for €225.

Hi austenfan, I know you like MDCI fragrances. Did you try Cio Cio San? If so, I’m curious what your thoughts are…

No I haven’t tried that one, nor have I tried Cuir Garamante (?). Have you? This one sounds so gorgeous and it sounds like something they are likely to do well.

No, I haven’t tried anything recent. I’ve sampled Peche Cardinal, Vepres de Siciliennes, Seville a l’Aube, and Rose de Siwa. MDCI samples in the US are a bit pricey so I haven’t ordered more. Love RdS though!

Perfume tribute to one of my most beloved operas, but the notes sound like a hot, gourmand (?) mess. Vanilla is a deal breaker for me. If it is benzoin in the base, that’s a different story. Of course, I need to get at least a sample of this – paying homage to Rameau warrants attention!

I’d go read the whole description at the link above…sounds like it is mostly “about” vanilla.

Luckyscent just received their stock of this today, if anyone is chomping at the bit. 🙂 Public service announcement.
