Hien Le No. 1 by Verduu ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 15 July 2015 4 Comments

Hien Le No. 1 by Verduu

Verdúu, a German company that pairs "up-and-coming designers" with perfumers, has launched their debut fragrance: Hien Le No. 1, pairing Berlin designer Hien Le with perfumer Mark Buxton.

Inspired by the functional, yet at the same time very smart, tennis clothing of the 1960’s and 70’s as well as California of this era, HIEN LE presents a strong sleek Spring / Summer collection 2016. Mark Buxton catched this inspiration and turned it into a fragrance with an expression of fresh and green, but also woody and dry.

The fragrance is unisex, delicate but at the same time explosive, with a dynamic, facetted top note and a soft unusual floral bouquet which plunges into a long lasting exotic woody fond.

The notes include citron, rosemary, orange blossom, lily of the valley, thyme, magnolia leaf, vetiver, cedar and gaiac wood.

Hien Le No. 1 by Verdúu is available in 15 ml Eau de Parfum, €32.

uh-oh, woody, dry & long lasting may mean a hefty dose of iso e super. Very attractive packaging, though.

I’m one of the last hold outs who likes iso e super, but hey…

I’m just happy they’re doing 15 ml as a standard size!

Hey, I love iso e super! I allways use it in my own experimental blends.
I thought I was so clever when I realised iso e, hedione and galaxolide allways smell good together then I read a perfumer (name escapes me) bemoaning other perfumers playing it safe with those exact three ingredients.
At least I found out something apparently obvious to the professionals.

However, this one doesn’t sound very exciting.
