Norell New York ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 1 July 2015 18 Comments

Norell New York

Norell Parfums has launched Norell New York, a new fragrance for women.*

With the pure quality of its ingredients and its exquisite blend of notes, Norell New York leads us to rediscover the artistry and craftsmanship of perfume. This modern green floral opens with a lush radiance that exudes a playful effervescence with an airy floral bouquet and a sensual finish.

The notes feature galbanum, mandarin, bergamot, pear, jasmine, peony, gardenia, orchid, orris butter, vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla and musk.

Norell New York can be found now at Neiman Marcus, $150 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

(via neimanmarcus)

Update: Norell New York was made under licensing arrangements with Parlux and was developed by perfumer Céline Barel.  There will also be limited edition Baccarat bottles for $1500. (via wwd)

* It does not appear to be a reissue of the original Norell fragrance. From the Norell Parfums Facebook page: "With Norell New York, we are paying tribute to today’s woman with the reinvention of a timeless classic. It is a celebration of Norell’s refined sophisticated style that was at the same time effortlessly, sensual, confident, comfortable and glamorous."

Could be. Admit I was not a fan of the original, or the version of the original that I smelled. Still, Norell with pear seems wrong.

Maybe it will be the pear that wasn’t there… it seems like PR mentions a lot of notes that aren’t really noticeable in the juice. I’ve actually never smelled the original Norell, but I was kind of enticed by the galbanum and vetiver….

The original Norell was BIG. But do doubt this has much to do with it — we’ll see!

I guess it’s the part that makes it modern?

All they left was the FONT!
When I saw this I said to myself, I bet some !@$×# added some
!#×$&@ vanilla to this! I was right.
This us why I try to keep most of my opinions to myself.

NOW they do a flanker? Almost fifty years after the original and only?

Next thing you’ll be telling me Anné Pliska is doing a flanker. With pear in it. And oud.

Is it a flanker? I did not think so, I thought it was more like a replacement. But I don’t know enough about who this company is, and who all owns the rights to the name “Norell”.

I do not see this fragrance on the Neiman Marcus website. Is it only in stores ay the moment? I will be testing this out. Lovely bottle.

I don’t see it there today either, but promise you it was there yesterday! On NM and the Bergdorf Goodman website too. Gone now from both.

It still has not come back on the website and I cannot find any info on it. I wonder what gives.

Very odd. Possible it’s in store but not online, also possible someone posted it too early and it will reappear?

Nobody has posted on the Facebook page since April.
