Niche line By Kilian has launched Pearl Oud, a new limited edition fragrance in the Arabian Nights collection.
Pearl Oud is an homage to Doha, to its ancestral culture of the pearl and a wink to the magnificent mall where Kilian opened his first boutique in Qatar: THE PEARL. This special fragrance opens with a cocktail of spices, composed of saffron and black pepper, and warmed by ylang ylang. Heart notes reveal a rich and opulent bouquet of jasmine, Turkish rose and iris, whilst the drydown offers Indian oud and castoreum to give an intense, animalistic personality to the perfume.

I’ll admit that every time I see the word “oud” I cringe but for some reason I read this anyway. 😉 The notes sound really nice but oh my goodness the price! $500 for 50 mls. Eek!
It almost seemed expected at this point for the niche brands, right? If it was cheaper, we’d all wonder why 😉
