Andrée Putman fragrance

The Andrée Putman fragrance brand, under the direction of Putman's daughter, Olivia, is relaunching Préparation Parfumée under the name L'Original, and introducing five new fragrances: Figue en Fleur, Formidable Man, Magnolys, Tan d’Épices and Un Peu d’Amour.

Figue en Fleur ~ the scent of figs in Provence. I will update with additional notes when I can. ["The fragrance captures the whole tree, from the heavy scent of the ripe fruit itself, the freshness of the green leaves, to the shy, delicate floral aroma of the fig tree blossoms. This scent sends out an essence of a fig tree in full bloom just as surely as the tree itself does in nature.]

Formidable Man ~ an energizing fragrance dedicated to Andrée Putman's husband; the notes include lemon, bergamot, osmanthus, patchouli, vetiver and moss.

Magnolys ~ dedicated to Andrée Putman's favorite flower, the magnolia; the notes include blackcurrant, peach blossom, magnolia, ylang ylang, nutmeg, sage and solar accord.

Tan d’Épices ~ With notes of heliotrope, cinnamon, incense, ginger, cedar and benzoin. ["Sensual and mysterious, Tan d’Epices covers the skin in a silken incense-laden scent, rich in cinnamon, powdery benzoin, ginger, cedar, and heliotrope. A scent to carry us off into hours of mystical contemplation…"]

Un Peu d’Amour ~ a joyful fragrance with bergamot, orange, jasmine, lily of the valley, vanilla and sandalwood. ["Un Peu d'Amour is a fragrance that exudes joy, from its sparkling citrus topnotes to its sumptuous jasmine and lily of the valley heart, right the way to its creamy, sweet base of vanilla and sandalwood. It is a scent that guarantees positive thinking and good vibrations. A perfume dedicated to all lovers!"]

Andrée Putman Figue en Fleur, Formidable Man, Magnolys, Tan d’Épices and Un Peu d’Amour are available in a kit with a 30 ml travel spray (shown above) plus a larger apothecary-style bottle and funnel. I will update with more specific sizes when I can.

Update: all five fragrances were developed by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. They are sold in 30, 100 and 250 ml Eau de Parfum, and can can be found now at Essenza Nobile in Germany. (quotes in brackets above via essenza-nobile.de)

Another update: nope, only L'Original is from Olivia Giacobetti, sorry!!

I admit I did not know it left, but it’s a great scent so I’m glad too.

Magnolys sounds interesting, and maybe Un Peu d’Amour…I’ve not heard of this line at all…

The original was a really good Olivia Giacobetti driftwood-ish sort of scent.
