Fragrance gifts for Mother’s Day 2015, part 1

Posted by Robin on 17 April 2015 25 Comments

Mother's Day (in the US, anyway) is coming up on Sunday, 10 May. Here are a few early gift ideas for anyone who wants to get started on their shopping. Watch for part 2 later this month.

Bvlgari Le Gemme Collection Luxury Gift Set

From Bvlgari, the Le Gemme Collection Luxury Gift Set, with 100 ml bottles of all six of the Le Gemme fragrances: "A collection of six eau de parfum created by BVLGARI, "the master of colored gemstones." Each opulent fragrance is inspired by the mystery and power of BVLGARI's most evocative gemstones from diverse continents. BVLGARI's latest luxurious collection captures the spirit of its prized gemstones and jeweler heritage in a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted glamorous gift box." $1890 at Bloomingdales (a 10 ml coffret, shown below, is sold out at Bloomies but might be available elsewhere, and a 30 ml coffret was produced as well).

Lush Yummy Mummy shower gel

From Lush, Yummy Mummy shower gel: "This super shimmery shower gel will have you turning heads (and noses!). Geranium oil, Brazilian orange oil and tonka absolute are expertly blended together to create one of our most intoxicating, yet delicate, fragrances: Yummy Mummy. Fruity, sweet and dashed with a hint of luster, this shower gel will leave skin unimaginably soft and smelling like scrumptious strawberries. It’s well deserving of its name!" $9.95-$29.95 at Lush USA.

Shalimar Dusting Powder

From Guerlain, Shalimar Dusting Powder: "Night-blooming flowers, vanilla and musks blend exquisitely in this romantic and sensual scent to create instant and lasting intrigue." $65 at Dillards.

Fragonard Jasmin Perle de Thé perfumed soap

From Fragonard, Jasmin Perle de Thé perfumed soap and soap dish: "Jasmine – Pearl tea. Green tea, even if it is scalding, is thirst-quenching. We seek refuge in the intimacy of an Andalusian garden to savor it and enjoy the benefits of the flowering jasmine. Beauty and femininity typify this heady, sense-filling combination of fragrances. Ceramic soap dish is decorated with the exquisite floral theme of the collection." $26 at Beautyhabit.

Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy Tin Box

From Crabtree & Evelyn, the Hand Therapy Tin Box: "A collection of 12 luxurious Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy creams are housed in a gorgeous floral-design tin, making it the perfect present for yourself and someone you love. Each cream is formulated with shea butter, macadamia nut oil and ceramides for hands that are noticeably softer and smoother after each use." $60 at Nordstrom.

Diptyque Rosafolia

From Diptyque, the limited edition Rosafolia candle: "A scented candle whose verdure, enhanced by a touch of galbanum, is gracefully diffused at the heart of Turkish rose absolute, the softness of petals sharpened by the understated vitality from a hint of geranium. Each year, when the end of winter approaches, when the days grow longer and nature gently returns to light, diptyque majestically showcases the rose with an outpouring of ingenuity, creating an unprecedented role, an affinity as yet discovered, for this incomparable flower with an inimitable scent…" $65 at Aedes.

Cartier Baiser Volé cream

From Cartier, perfumed cream in the Baiser Volé fragrance. 200 ml for $108 at Cartier.

I would love to have that soap! And want the BV cream too.

I want the La Panthere body cream! I’d definitely have to test it out first, though. $100 for a body cream seems a bit steep.

Very steep! Not likely I’d ever pay it.

I have a bottle of the Fragonard JPdT edp and find it to be pleasantly refreshing on a hot day. It’s in the same ballpark as Pure White Linen but with a pretty cedar base.

How much is the Bvlgari coffret, unknown?

The top one is $1890 (it does say that, but there’s lots of text so easy to miss). Don’t know how much the smaller ones cost.

I was talking about the smaller one, the larger one was listed as a gift set, the smaller a coffret. I should have been more specific.

Oh, that’s ok — they are both coffrets and/or gift sets, same difference 🙂

I did glance over the dusting powder. They hardly make powders anymore it seems. And Shalimar? Yes, please:).

That set of 10-mL Bulgaris is so perfect. It’s like six little jewelled magic wands.

Remind me again why anyone needs six 100 mL bottles gifted to him / her all in one shot? OTOH, everyone can use a coffret of six of the 10 mLs.

    Yummy Mummy sounds yummy!

Seriously — because (they’re / you’re / I’m ) worth it? It’s the sort of gift you might give because you want to show you spent lots of money?

And might have to go smell Yummy Mummy, although don’t think I want shimmer in my shower gel.

Yes, it is quite opulent! Mind you, the 10ml ones remind me of those swarovski and imitation swarovski pencils…

Agree the notes in the shower gel sound really nice, but shimmer?!
