Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto Le Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 5 February 2015 10 Comments

Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto Le Parfum

Yves Saint Laurent will launch Manifesto Le Parfum in March. The new fragrance for women is a flanker to 2012's Manifesto, and follows Manifesto L'Elixir and Manifesto L'Eclat.

Manifesto Le Parfum was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo and Loc Dong. The floriental fragrance centers on iris concrete; other notes include bergamot, jasmine, sandalwood, benzoin and tonka bean.

Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto Le Parfum will be available in 30 and 50 ml.

It’s very pretty…but betcha I will not like that bottle in person. Really thought the Manifesto packaging looked pretty sad. But who knows, maybe they will surprise me 🙂

Yes, let’s hope! And I don’t think I even tried the original though lol.

Beautiful bottle! Not really familiar with this line, but the presentation makes me want to try it. What do people think of original?

Not to sound so snarky but you are not missing anything. There are far better sweet vanilla frags out there at half the price of Manitesto.

Do go see the bottle in person before you decide.

Well, I have seen and smelled the others and was not impressed. I will sniff this one too. Hope it really has an iris note and is not so sweet. Sorry for the snark, just not impressed with YSL lately. I do love the fashions though lol

My unvarnished opinion is that the original was heinous, both in sight and scent. I generally like sweet florientals, but this smelled cheap and thoughtless. Not just boring (which is how I see Modern Muse or Boucheron’s Place Vendome), but a total scrubber and it cheeses me off that YSL thinks they can just have a flashy marketing campaign with the actress du jour and people will buy whatever cheap juice they crank out, but I guess that’s the general state of big market perfume.

Um, probably goes without saying that I’m not seeking out the flankers or the parfum. 🙂

How did they get away with stealing the name from Isabella Rosselini’s Manifesto? I fell in love with the scent of basil b/c of that fragrance!

I would assume IR no longer holds the trademark…
