Tom Ford Noir Extreme ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 24 January 2015 16 Comments

Tom Ford Noir Extreme

Tom Ford will launch Noir Extreme, a new variation on 2012's Tom Ford Noir fragrance for men.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme reveals a new dimension of the Noir man. An amber drenched, woody oriental fragrance with a tantalizing and delectable heart, Noir Extreme captures the aspect of the man that relishes in immoderation and dares to be extraordinary.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme is available now for pre-order on the Tom Ford website, 50 ml for $100.

(via tomford)

Update: the description from Harrods...."Known for decadent and opulent scents, Tom Ford presents Noir Extreme; a deep Woody Oriental fragrance, which slowly unravels to reveal a more alluring heart. The base of amber-drenched accords gives rise to citrus notes of Mandarin Oil and Neroli, adding heat from spiced cardamom and nutmeg. Blossoming at its core, floral notes of rose absolute, jasmine accord and orange flower are all-seducing, while a melting vanilla ember carries the long-lasting smoulder deep into the night." Additional notes include kulfi accord, amber and sandalwood.

Ack. How many TF scents have Noir in the name?! I have been testing (and retesting–a purgatory basket staple!) Noir de Noir, a lovely rose scent for a while now. If I ever decide I really *do* want it, I fear I could easily purchase the wrong one!

I think only 2 in the Signature line…so you’d know by the price!

Well, naturally I’d go for the expensive one! (Just once I’d like to be surprised by preferring the less exclusive version of something!)

Because I got my brother into Tom Ford scents, this is probably something that he would like. We are huge fans of Tom Ford.

Is this a flanker to Encre Noire by any chance? 😉

Wondering why anyone would need or prefer a more extreme version of TF Noir? It is very strong as it is…

Don’t worry – it’s in no way an extreme version of the original ! To me it’s a waaaaaay softer, creamy Amber – if you love ‘noir ‘don’t pin your hopes on this one !

I’d like to try this one, as I really like the first Noir for men. I’ve said it before, I like the TF Signature line much better than the exclusive ones and find them all to be unisex.

I just recently tried Noir for men and liked it too! I’m also a fan of Grey Vetiver…

Will wait for Noir Extreme Sport or L’Eau Noir Extreme….because you know they must be in development as we speak! 😉

Just wanted to add that a Noir EDP also came out in 2013. (Personally I like the Edp but not the Edt!) Seems like they are following Dior which is releasing an Edt followed by an Edp, followed by an ‘extreme’ and/or a parfum version!

(swap that round – the Edp was released first, 2012, and then the Edt, 2013…)

Believe this is getting a short limited single store/online release in February then will be officially released in other retailers end of June (similar to his recent ‘lips and boys’ lipstick collection which I think was available on his website and in some stores for a couple days then pulled before a later wider re-release).

It’s not really an extreme (ie stronger) version of Noir – they’ve just added more into the mix – jsut extreme in that they’ve crammed more in ! to me was spicier and heading into tobacco vanille territory

I’ve had this for just over week now. I wasnt sure to start with but I’m not really warming to it. I looooove most of tom fords fragrances but this one doesn’t really have much to do with the original noir at all (which I love). It’s certainly not extreme in any way! It has a soft creamy, milky smell after the initial dry down and I found it a bit bland with minimal projection and quite poor longevity. He’s charging £70 for 50ml of EDP – the only extreme thing is the price! Made a decision this morning and my bottle went on eBay – hopefully the new owner likes it better than me!
If you love the original noir it’s definitely not a blind buy – make sure you try this before buying as its nothing like the original in case you’re expecting a pumped up version of ‘Noir’
