Oscar de la Renta Oscar Flor ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 22 January 2015 8 Comments

Oscar de la Renta Oscar Flor

Oscar de la Renta has launched Oscar Flor, a new fragrance for women. Oscar Flor is a flanker to 1977's Oscar.

Inspired by his love of gardens, Oscar has re-imagined his signature scent with Oscar FLOR. Sparkling with mango and lush neroli, followed by a fresh heart of pink jasmine, Oscar FLOR is warmed with an elegant finish of creamy musk. Natural, bright, fragrant.

Oscar de la Renta Oscar Flor can be found now at Macy's, $78 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum. 30 and 50 ml sizes will also be available in some markets.

It does not sound inspiring, but you never know. Makes me sad that Oscar de la Renta hasn’t got a better fragrance…and now this and Oscar are all that are left in production.

I’ll give this a try as (many!) years ago I wore his original fragrance, which was beautiful (in fact my then boyfriend now husband of 25+ years bought me the parfum, the first time I’d had a really posh actual parfum, in the blossom with dewdrop-topped bottle – fab!) & then what must have been one of the first flankers, though it wasn’t called such then – a greener variation of the original, can’t remember its name, juice was actually quite a vivid green; I had a sample of Ruffles too!

REALLY? “Live in Love” Was Quite Well Done. One of my Must Buys in fact. It’s Very Beautiful in that Old School Fragrance way. And “Something Blue” is not gonna Set the world afire but it is Desperately Pretty and Feminine! Hell, “Esprit D’Oscar” is Magical. I think you might need a re-sniff of them!

My point was that a designer of his stature deserves a fragrance that is going to set the world on fire. All of those in any case are discontinued.

Didn’t they just come out with a “luxury” line last year, or am I confusing OdlR with someone else?

A few years ago. Then they switched their license to InterParfums. Many of those perfumes can still be found for sale, but they’re no longer in production.
