Cartier Eau de Cartier Vetiver Bleu ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 16 January 2015 9 Comments

Eau de Cartier Vétiver Bleu

Cartier has launched Eau de Cartier Vétiver Bleu, a new flanker to 2001's Eau de Cartier. Vétiver Bleu follows recent flankers Eau de Cartier Essence de Bois, Eau de Cartier Goutte de Rose and Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil.

A collection of Eau for him and for her, so that each can sense the constant presence of the other. An Eau with a clear freshness, an ode to simplicity. The rough and elegant vetiver roots' energy crystalizes the power of the Eau de Cartier. Vétiver Bleu combines both the mint freshness and the woody aromas' warmth. A vetiver with multiple facets, covering the skin of emotions with its smoky facets.

Additional notes include licorice and menthol accents.

Cartier Eau de Cartier Vétiver Bleu can be found now at Bloomingdales, in 50, 100 and 200 ml Eau de Toilette.

Sounds nice as long as the mint is toned down.

I’m just hoping the bleu doesn’t mean aquatic…

I didn’t think of that, but yes, I agree. The licorice and menthol sounds nice.

Eau Boisee is really nice sometimes.

Most of the flankers have been good…I loved last year’s Zeste.

I really liked the Essence D’0range but they discontinued it and launched the less sophisticated Essence du soleil which is too bubble gum. I also liked (and still have) the Eau de Cartier concentree. I love smoky Vetivers especially Atelier Cologne’s rendition and Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver. Will give it a whiff.

I haven’t tried any of these, but I’d be interested to sniff their take on vetiver.

I like the original Eau de Cartier and the Zeste but wish they lasted longer. I was not impressed by the Boise or the Rose… I LOVE all the notes listed here! Whether I will like the actual scent is a different story altogether 😉
