Posted by Robin on 22 December 2014 9 Comments

Givenchy Very Irrésistible Mes Envies

Givenchy will launch Very Irrésistible Mes Envies, a new limited edition flanker to 2003's Very Irrésistible Givenchy. Other recent flankers to Very Irrésistible include Very Irrésistible Edition Croisière and Very Irrésistible L'Eau en Rose.

Notes for the floral aromatic include peony, rose and star anise.

Givenchy Very Irrésistible Mes Envies will be available in March, in 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

Peony is one of my favorite notes. This is one I would like to sample.

Honest to god that scent is nothing more than a machine for generating profitable descendants. TWENTY flankers and offshoots (like the harvest editions) in the last decade!

I really do like the original men’s version, though. It’s terrific. (I never did try either of the flankers, but at least they kept those down to a reasonable number.)

I wonder if any scent they’ve done since 2003 has done as well? I suspect not.

Recently, I got a sample of the original with a Sephora order, I believe, and it wasn’t horrible. It seems like most Givenchy releases in the last ten years have been meh at best (though I do like Hot Couture edt) but this one, while certainly “perfumy” was kind of pretty. I might like some for a very reasonable price and definitely in moderation. The flankers, however, haven’t ever got me curious enough to seek them out.

Agree — not terribly interesting, but not horrible, yes. I think Eaudemoiselle was way better but it did not seem to take off. I could not make myself like Ange ou Demon.

I admit I liked En Rose…will sample..but ugh that bow! LOL. That would be the first to go. Electric Rose was not to my taste.

The box is pretty. Could the bow be used as a diffuser? Do you tie it in your hair? It seems so oddly incongruous. The original VI is my ultimate definition of “screechy”. Some of the flankers have not been too bad though.

As soon as I see the name ‘irresistible’ I have an irresistible urge to resist it! The marketing obviously isn’t targeted at those with oppositional type personalities :p
