I would like to see the holiday windows (really all of the Christmas-related stuff in New York) someday. Do you know whether they leave them up for at least a few days after Christmas, or do they take everything down on the 26th? It is nearly impossible for us to travel anywhere before Christmas, so our opportunity to do so is in the days immediately after.

It is great fun, but SO crowded. They definitely do not come down on the 26th…pretty sure they are up at least the whole week after Xmas, but worth checking.

Good to know. There are some Christmas displays here in Texas that we have never managed to see because they only go through the 24th or 25th of December. Quite a lot of people here take down the Christmas decorations from their yards and houses right after the 25th as well. I do wish everyone would leave things up until New Year’s Eve at least. The two of us are both involved in church music (he is the accompanist for our church), and what with advent services, concerts, Saturday morning rehearsals in December, Christmas Eve services, and what not, it is hard for to to go anywhere until after Christmas. Sometimes we can manage to sneak away for a night or two, but that doesn’t work for a trip to New York.

At least one house in our neighborhood leaves their large yard display up for most of the winter, LOL…
