Demeter Log Cabin ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 20 October 2014 7 Comments

Demeter Log Cabin

Demeter has launched Log Cabin, the latest addition to their Fragrance Library.

“...invite a person to a log cabin in the woods for a weekend. The true personality emerges every time.” Anne LaBastille, Woodswoman I: Living Alone in the Adirondack Wilderness

Demeter's Log Cabin is all about the wood; Texas Cedar for a touch of smokiness, Virginia Cedar for sweetness, Oak Moss to smooth rough edges and add just a touch of green: all melded together over time and weathered. Step into another time and place without breaking the bank.

Demeter Log Cabin is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products.

Can’t wait to sniff this, as it sounds wonderful.

Also very amused to see an ad at the top right-hand side of the page for… you guessed it, log cabins! Actually, the photo in the ad looks more like a garden shed, which leads me on to wondering what a ‘Garden Shed’ perfume would smell like… now THAT would be an evocative one.

How funny, have not seen that ad!

Demeter does not do Garden Shed, but they do have Greenhouse and Pruning Shears 🙂

It must be a UK-only ad, as the price was in GBP. It’s disappeared now.

Demeter is a line I know next to nothing about, so I shall be checking out the NST ‘demeter’ tag!

Looks like a Lincoln Log construction in the pic. Come to think of it, they do have a smell.

It does, plus it looks like new lincoln logs, or maybe a lincoln log competitor.

All I can say is Anne LaBastille was my hero- I wanted to be her in the worst way! I read “Beyond Black Bear Lake” when I was just a young whippersnapper, it was my bible! In it, she told the story of living in a small log cabin she built essentially alone in the Adirondaks. She lived there with her dog, a German Shepard, while studying the effects of acid rain. A lovely book by a very brave and unconventional woman.

I may have to spring for a bottle of this.

How cool, I had not heard of her.
