What sends me through the roof is fragrance

Posted by Robin on 11 September 2014 6 Comments

One day he may have another jewel to set in his crown: His treasure chest holds a remarkable collection of old perfumes, including Caron’s Tabac Blond from 1919 — “for a woman who drank, smoked, wore leather and didn’t want to smell like a flower,” he said; an old bottle of Chanel No. 5 from the 1930s — “before they changed it, you can smell the difference”; and Cliff Richard’s Devil Woman.

“I adore jewelry,” Mr. Prince said, “but what sends me through the roof is fragrance. I would love to create my own perfume.”

— Jeweler Andrew Prince, who makes the jewelry for Downton Abbey. Read more at Jeweler With a Celebrity Luster at the New York Times

The Downton Abbey jewelry is beautiful. How nice that Mr. Prince prizes that Tabac Blond!

I am sorry to say that despite seeing every episode, I’ve never really focused on or noticed the jewelry…will have to pay more attention next season.

This is a fascinating read, thanks for sharing the link, R. I love the jewelry on DA and if Mr Prince goes into perfumery, it might be interesting.
