Barneys + Maiyet ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 27 August 2014 8 Comments

Barneys Maiyet Eau de Parfum

Luxury department store Barneys New York has launched a new collaborative fragrance with fashion label Maiyet. Maiyet Eau de Parfum is the fourth fragrance in the Barneys New York series, after Irene Neuwirth, L’Wren Scott and Greg Lauren.

The latest designer fragrance collaboration between Maiyet and master perfumer Ralf Schwieger is inspired by Maiyet’s extensive travels to partner artisan communities.

The fragrance captures the unified complexity that defines the Maiyet woman. Featuring notes of Namibian myrrh, Indian sandalwood and jasmine, Indonesian patchouli, and Italian bergamot, the scent incorporates adventurous elements from exotic locations.

Championing the Maiyet social consciousness, the sweet and nutty hints of Namibian myrrh were harvested in partnership with Mane’s Kustha Project, an organization promoting economic empowerment through fair trade and labor.

Barneys New York is available now at Barneys, $195 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Ouch over the price tag but that list of notes has me swooning.

They’ve charged the same price for all the scents in this series so far. This one does sound way more interesting to me than the others. Maybe Jessica will get over to Barneys and review it for us 🙂

Yep. Hence why I haven’t tried any of these so far since sadly, there’s several on my to buy list around the same price that I already love. Being limited edition doesn’t help, either. Or have these taken a while to sell out in the past?

At the moment, they’ve still got the Irene Neuwirth in stock if that helps. I think it launched in February. The other 2 are gone, or at least gone from online.

These Barney’s limited editions don’t hang around all that long in store. A few months from now, they’ll end up being unceremoniously marked down 50% and moved to barneyswarehouse until they sell through.

Thanks! Even at half price I’ll want this to be cheaper, but good to know 🙂

But Robin, wasn’t you who famously said “$100 is like the new free?” Hahaha!

Exactly! I want them to pay me to remove the perfume from the store 🙂
