Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 22 July 2014 17 Comments

Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile

Acqua di Parma has launched Rosa Nobile, a new fragrance for women. Rosa Nobile is the latest in the series that already includes Iris Nobile (2004), Magnolia Nobile (2009) and Gelsomino Nobile (2011).

The Queen of Flowers. Acqua di Parma's Rosa Nobile fragrance celebrates the preciousness and elegance of the rose. This exquisite fragrance opens with soft, vibrant notes of Sicilian Mandarin, Calabrian Bergamot and pepper. The heart reveals velvety accents of peony, violet and lily of the valley which perfectly complement the richness of Centifolia Rose from Italy. The fragrance concludes with sublime dry down of cedarwood, ambergris and musk. Refined and timeless, Rosa Nobile celebrates the beauty and allure of innate feminine charm.

Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile can be found now at Holt Renfrew in Canada, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Just this week I was looking at the Acqua di Parma line wondering why their women’s offerings have umpteen flankers but no rose perfume! Someone read my mind. Thanks AdP!

I mean, not that there aren’t enough rose perfumes in existence, but I was looking for a nice entry-level rose to recommend to a friend (ideally something pretty and sophisticated, but fairly quiet and not too weird, if anyone has suggestions! so far her favorite has been Jo Malone Red Roses) and figured that however AdP did rose would probably fit the bill!

No, I get it! And these do tend to be quiet. There is probably also a perfect entry level rose in the Rosine line but offhand don’t know what it is. And there’s always Stella 🙂

And Jessica probably has something that fits in her 25 rose perfumes post…

Jessica’s list is so great. And this friend even lives in New York so she could go smell the whole Rosine line and see what strikes her fancy (I’m guessing Rose d’Ete or Zest, given the Red Roses inclination, but maybe La Rose, Lotus, Diabolo, Ecume… it’s hard to keep them straight!), but I think for a civilian, the places that have the Rosine line can feel a little intimidating. Stella’s a great suggestion though–more readily found in lower-key settings!

Meanwhile in the course of looking, I’ve wound up buying myself a bottle of the Diptyque Eau Rose. Dangerous business, shopping for someone else 🙂

I haven’t smelled it in a while but I used to like Paul Smith’s Rose (the original). It’s rose lifted by green tea 🙂

Oh, great idea! I was actually sending her some tea scents as well (she asked for rosewater or lavender, but I have a sense that light tea scents probably have the feel she’s looking for), so this is the perfect synthesis of those instincts!

Beautiful pink juice. Not a huge rose fan, but this sounds nice.

So far this series has been pretty light & clean, so doubt it will be heavy rose.

Light, clean and VERY expensive (has been my impression!)

Or perhaps I mean very expensive for scents quite so light & clean…

Agreed. They are very polished, which is worth something, but especially for perfume hounds, it’s not something I feel moved to spend my pennies on. A little more verve, please 🙂

All of AdP’s scents are very “work friendly”. They may not be exciting but they are very well done. I will definitely try a sample. Thanks!
