I'm commando for the second day in a row (and it's pouring rain for the second day in a row. I should have found a vacation postcard featuring rain.) Does anyone else take a break from fragrance every so often?
Reminder: this Friday, the 18th, will be Sample Grab Bag: pick a fragrance at random from among your untried samples. The following Friday wear something by Hermès OR something by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena.

I thought HM was doing a new masculine this year, but no sign of it so far.
I’m wearing Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli. I don’t know that I’ve ever been moved to “take a break” from fragrance but I definitely think, if it’s not fun, don’t do it! I cycle through nail polish like that — I find it really expressive and love it, but sometimes I just don’t want to keep up with it.
I end up taking breaks on vacation frequently. Although depends on the vacation and where I’m going & with whom…this is a family vacation by a lake. Fragrance seems superfluous for some reason.
Oh gosh, definitely, and especially because lake country is so full of its own beautiful natural scents to enjoy.
Plus in the evenings full of bugs…best to be scent free then for sure.
I sometimes take breaks, but not today… I ‘m wearing Amouage Dia. I had dismissed it early on as “too floral” and probably also way too sophisticated for me, but then by chance I got a little mini of the body cream and that prompted me to revisit my sample. I’m getting a lot of incense, but it’s light enough for a muggy summer day.
Dia is pretty…I should revisit it too.
I am your scent twin today. Dia is adding some sophistication to a humid, fairly inglorious day.
Dia is pretty and the hand lotion is divine. I was this close to wearing Dia today.

I was running around finishing up my packing and I know I overpacked. At least the first leg of my trip doesn’t require weighimg luggage so I can still move thimgs around later to avoid extra charges.
I’ve decided to be primarily monogamous again for this trip. My pick is Atelier Cologne Cedrat Enivrant. For evening, I may use Chanel No. 5 EDT which I am never without while traveling.
Right now, I am smelling eau de heavy smokers. The 2 ladies sitting behind me have the uber-raspy voices of two-packs per day smokers and they pretty much waft of stale smoke and ash.
Good pick for a monogamous relationship…sorry you’re stuck near heavy smokers though.

Today I wore Diptyque L’ombre dans l’eau edp. This was a love at first sniff for me and the bottle I found on sale arrived today so I had to wear it, although the weather was a bit cool for it.

I always wear perfume when I go out, so sometimes on my days off if I’m not in a sampling phase I’ll sometimes not wear one, especially if I’m cooking.

Scents of the day are two Demeter perfume oils — Dragon Fruit on one arm and Pure Soap on the other. Light and pleasant. I brought the bottles to work so that I can re-apply as needed. I rarely take a break from perfume, but I often tone things down to light stuff like I’m wearing today.
I live in the Central Valley of California, and it is rarely humid here, thank goodness. Unfortunately, it is humid today. We just returned from vacation, and this morning, my husband joked that we brought the humidity of the East back with us 🙂
I’m back from vacation and I’m sportin’ a rather glamorous farmer’s tan (if I do say so, myself), and I’m festooned with the remnants of numerous mosquito and blackfly bites. But, I digress. We just returned from a great road trip (went as far as New Brunswick). Wildlife, geology, fossils, natural history museums, natural phenomena (tides at the Bay of Fundy, etc.), and baseball (we visited the Baseball Hall of Fame on the drive back). What could be better? I also saw 3 or 4 “life” birds, which means it was the first time I saw the particular species. We saw Atlantic Puffins with numerous tiny fish lined up in their bills. What could be cuter?

Sounds like a great vacation! I’ve been wanting to see the tides at the Bay of Fundy AND puffins 🙂
To see the puffins, you’ll need to schedule a boat trip, and perhaps several trips. Two of our boat trips were cancelled due to rough seas. The third time was the charm, and it was the last day before we had to turn around and start driving back west. Bring binoculars.
For the Bay of Fundy, the Flower Pots at Hopewell Rocks are awesome! There are a lot of stairs. I have bad knees, but it was so worth the pain.

Sounds like my kind of vacation – nature + bird-watching + baseball! I loved Cooperstown, wish I’d had more time to spend there, the town seemed to offer many interesting sights in addition to the famed baseball museum, hopefully, next trip. Many thanks for sharing!

Driving near Lewiston, Wisconsin, we encountered (well, actually we saw it in the distance) a magical pink mist/fog. It was coming over a little valley perched on a hillside with the setting sun behind it. I expected unicorns, next 🙂 Anyway, I thought of you and your lyrical posts and I was sure that you would have had a quite eloquent description of this pink fog!
Thank you for your kind words. Do you mean Lewiston by the Wisconsin Dells? I’ve been through there more times than I can count and have never seen pink fog (or unicorns!). Will have to watch for them my next trip through 🙂 . I have, however, seen a moonbow at Cumberland Falls, Kentucky – a nighttime rainbow that appears over the falls only during a full moon when conditions are perfect (supposedly the only other place in the world this appears with any regularity is Zimbabwe). An absolutely haunting sight – and I can certainly imagine pristine white unicorns visible through the mist! Songes is my scent of choice for this mystical summertime memory.
I just looked at Google Maps, and yes, that must be it. We were driving down Hwy 90/94 (I think that they parallel each other at that point?) and after seeing the pink fog, I made a note of the next sign that I saw, and it was for Lewiston. The fog was flowing like a gliding blanket or sinuous magic carpet up and over the land, and the intense color of the sunset made the mist deep pink. Enchanted Forest by the Vagabond Prince seems fitting (such a cute bottle).
A moonbow? Definitely a peak experience! (Utters dreamy sigh …)

It is a writing day for me, so I am up early… Reading blogs! Still haven’t picked a perfume. A little while ago someone asked, maybe it was Angela?, what fragrances people wear when they feel under the weather. I said Cristalle… But last night we were heading out to a play and I wasn’t feeling peachy and Cristalle was NOT going to work. I ended up draining my sample of of Lys 41… and that along with a rollicking interpretation of Comedy of Errors was the right medicine.
Random other comment: I tried to find a bottle of Terracotta after sampling it at Nordstrom’s and it turns out there’s narry a bottle left in the whole country. Consoled myself with a bottle of Fire Island which I’ve always liked, but never enuf for an FBI.
I’m sad I never even got to try Terracotta. Neither my Nordies nor Saks would even admit to having a tester.
The SA gave me a sample, but had a I known it was last of its kind on the continent, I would have meekly asked for more 🙂
I guess it hasn’t been such a big hit…they have some here in my nearby drugstore! Take a trip up to Canada, maybe you can get some here 🙂

In what I think was an autocorrect overreach, “FB” has become “FBI.” If that starts happening more often, the NSA might suddenly find itself reading a lot of perfume blogs.
SOTD is Infusion d’Iris. I rarely take a break from perfume. Mostly when I am around my mom and sister as they don’t really like strong scents – I usually get a comment such as “you smell like perfume!” to which I reply, “well does it smell good or bad?” and get something like “it smells strong” – they are the only people who really comment on my perfume I guess 😉
I wear perfume even when I just hang out at home in my pajamas, which is actually a good time to experiment or wear something difficult or strong. I went on vacation over this past Christmas and New Years and didn’t get my bag for a week, and the thing I missed the most was my perfume! Now I take it in my carry on.
Until I got into perfume recently I did not realize how scent oriented I was, whether it is inhaling the aroma of loose tea before making my first cup of the day, or getting homesick while hiking in Italy because it smells like hiking in the mountains where I grew up but live far away from now.
My mom has the same perfume aversion. Everything smells strong, perfumey and smells bad.
Commando, lately I am taking a break from fumes. Not sure why..
No SOTD yet. Might wind up with Silver Iris again. My husband seems to like it. And I was able to get the SA at NM to pour out the travel spray of Trefle Pur that I had gotten as a GWP and didn’t like (not wasted, he poured it into a larger bottle of TP). He cleaned it and the sprayer with rubbing alcohol (sprayed through the sprayer). It worked. I got to trade it out for more Silver Iris, and the SI doesn’t seem to be contaminated, smells fine!
We are moving today. Trucks are being loaded. Our stuff will be in storage but all my perfume is going with us! Wish me luck getting everything packed into my car.

Currently on my perfume journey I’m rarely without fragrance. Perhaps years from now when it’s not as new to me I might take a break now and again.
I’m also wearing Eau des Merveilles, and fully convinced I need a full bottle!

SOTD is Da Ma Mere by Shelley Kyle. It is fresh, green and warm all at the same time.
I avoid wearing fragrance if I am going to be doing something extremely unpleasant or stressful so I don’t end up contaminating my feelings about a fragrance b/c of said event or stress. The fragrance can come after it’s over to rejuvinate my soul.
I do the same thing, foregoing a fragrance if I know a stressful event or interaction is coming up.
I usually do the same thing unless it is a day that calls for No. 5. For some reason it is always comforting/strengthening.
I do have a few spine stiffening frags, No 5, No 19, Coco. Hmm? I see a pattern.

I often go commando on vacation. For some reason, vacations and perfume don’t mix for me. Unless I’m sampling something we don’t have here of course
I never take a break from fragrances. I don’t feel completely dressed if I don’t put perfume on. When I had surgery, I about died when they told me I couldn’t have anything on. I cheated by spraying it on my clothes. My SOTD is Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir.
That’s exactly how I feel about it. If I have to go in perfumeless, I spritz as soon as I get home.
Wearing Divine by Divine today. I have to be careful not to put too much on, as it really projects and lasts a long time on me. The only time I don’t wear perfume is if I am in a hurry and somehow forget. That doesn’t happen too often.
Divine is a good one, Mary Carol. No hype, simply smells great.
Today I’m wearing Jacomo for Her and trying to decide whether I like or dislike it. For whatever reason, it isn’t clear cut either way. At least that makes it interesting. 🙂
Neither my mother nor her mother would have dreamed of emerging from the boudoir to meet the day without perfume, makeup and hair fully in place. I have allowed the makeup and hair elements to fall by the wayside (those little claw clips are my friend!), but I’m holding strong with the fragrance element.
The only time I consciously eschew fragrance is when visiting a friend in the hospital. It would be awful if I made a sick friend feel worse by choosing a fragrance that didn’t agree with them.
My younger cousins used to find my great-grandmother hilarious. When she stayed with them, she never came down to breakfast without every hair in place, wearing jewelry that matched her bathrobe and pajamas.
Today’s SOTD is Bruno Acampora Musc. I’m strangely in love with the earthy, mushroomy start and wish that lasted longer! It is pretty all the way down, and my fellow commuters probably are grateful that this note disappears quickly, but I want more!
If you like earthy and mushroomy, you should absolutely try Oriza L. Legrande Chypre Mousse.

I’m sure you’ve probably tried it already, but Tom Ford’s Black Orchid has a pronounced “black truffle” note that on me, unfortunately, never went away. It was much less noticeable when applied sparingly, though.
I have a meeting in a relatively small room today so I probably won’t wear perfume until this evening.
Last night I wore Givenchy Harvest 2007 Organza Jasmine, one of my favorite perfumes for cultivating a good night’s sleep. Jasmine is supposed to be especially relaxing and good for sleep, according to research that was reported here a couple of years ago.
I have one of these – either 2007 or 2008. I wish they still did these special jasmines. They are so lush and juicy!! I’d never smelled Organza until I had the harvest ed. I haven’t worn mine in ages…..
I’m taking a walk through the Parisian woods today, eating blackberries and inhaling the scent of wild roses, SOTD YSL Paris Roses des Bois.
I’m one of those who feels naked without scent – and earrings! – and rarely skip wearing fragrance (unless I”m really sick or anticipating an unpleasant event), although it’s tempered by what I’m doing and where I’m at. Since I’m outdoors a lot, I’m careful what I wear and wear it lightly. Camping, I usually just stick to a ‘green’ scented shower gel and lotion, but I do take along my trusty Wrappings for those moments when I need a little bit more. (And, I ‘always’ wear earrings!)
I love Wrappings and also think its perfect for hiking and camping! Only now that I’ve discovered SSS I do sometimes wear one of them instead, esp. Incense Pure or Winter Woods.
Will have to add Incense Pure and Winter Woods to my growing SSS list, along with Forest Walk. Thank you!
I am another one who always has earrings on. I never thought about it until you mentioned it, but even if hair is up and no makeup on, I always have earrings on. I just don’t look or feel right without them. How strange! I’ve had to switch from my usual hoops or dangly ones to studs for a bit now that I have twin baby girls who like to grab things. Luckily, they have been ignoring the earrings more lately and just going for the necklaces!
I overslept by an hour this morning (took a benadryl last night because my allergies were killing me, _and_ my husband finally installed the new blinds in our bedroom, so I was zonked this morning and my room was way darker than I’m used to, and I just did not get up). I scrambled to work scentless and now I’m wearing Velvet Tuberose lotion from B&BW – I like the scent, not the most elegant, but I doubt I’ll really see anyone today.
I take a scent break now and again, usually nothing intentional, I’ll just happen to go a few days without the yen to spray anything.
Today I’m wearing the L’Eau version of Shalimar PI. Its a very nice summer fragrance. I love the original best but seem to wear the PI more often (I guess I tend to save Shalimar for special occasions), so when I found out that PI and its flanker were being discontinued I snapped up the L’Eau without testing first. Dangerous, I know, but it worked out fine. Since I generally love all perfumes (so long as they are well made) I have had very good luck with blind buys.
Oh, and since I became obsessed with perfume a few years ago I never go without. Before that fragrance was only for parties or going out.
I too love Shalimar PI. An almost perfect summer scent. I have not tried the L’eau………
Manguier Metisse is mySOTD which I think will be soft enough for clinic in a couple of hours. I almost never go fragrance free but I keep acquiring samples so I probably have at least a dozen in my purse at any given moment in case of a scent emergency
If I have a headache, which is likely for me, I don’t wear perfume. Sometimes I don’t have a headache but can tell I will get one if I spray.
Today I am wearing Five o’clock au gingembre. I may still need a fb of this. It is so inoffensive and, unlike others have experienced, lasts forever on me.
I’m the same way. Or, if I am unsure, I wave the spray head near my nose and will know instantly that on that particular day, I will get a headache if I wear the perfume. I’ve had this problem with my beloved Timbuktu and Ylang 49 lately.
I just received several Frankensmellie scents from Smell Bent. Today I put on Green Patchouli. I loved the initial smell, but it has really faded on me. Probably, this was inevitable since these are natural edts. Anyway, since I bought these unsniffed (the 4ml travel sprays) would one of these count as a grab bag sample?
nuit de tubereuse again after a long hiatus, I really should wear it more frequently, I guess it’s the top notes which sometimes discourage me, but the drydown is worth waiting for

I’m lucky then, the somewhat irritating initial sour note turns into a distinct briskness which keeps everything reined in, the spices, the potential sweetness.
Wearing Olivier Durbano Amethyst today – soft enough for summer, yet warming enough for the overcast day.
I very rarely start the day without perfume, but often have to wash it off later (both my boss and I have chronic daily headaches exacerbated by migraines). Luckily, most perfumes don’t trigger the migraine, just make them worse when they occur, so I don’t have to give up my perfume habit.
Ah, that one (Amethyst) is on my list to sample. It’s so nice to see a “purple” frag that does not contain black currant.
I very seldom like Infusion d’Iris in winter but I’v been wearing some heavy fumes in the last few days and was wanting something more airy and with just a bit of a vetiver nip. It filled the conditions admirably!
I’m noticing that Lutens’ Chergui has become a little thin on the ground here in South Africa. There seems to be only two stockiest, and neither has Chergui at the moment. Is there any chance that this most magnificent of all perfumes is at risk of being discontinued???
Chergui is still to be found at the discounters on this side of the pond and at Uncle Serge’s website. I understand your concern over a beloved fragrance, it happens all the time, without warning! Testing Borneo 1834 on the left side and Angel on the right, because of my amazing fragrance sucking skin, I am not actually a walking patch-bomb! Well, no one has complained yet……
Well a shop here said they were discontinuing quite a few of the Lutens’, but Chergui was not one that they mentioned… But then I’m looking at the website and there’s no Chergui there. 😮 And of course I am thinking that maybe – just this time -I really should have got a back-up!
I came close to buying Prada’s Amber recently for its patchouli (and also because all the stores around here are dumping it) but have decided its a bit too syrupy. I prefer Borneo to it – and also to Angel which is just TOO much everything, all at once. But I’m still seeking my perfect patchouli 🙂

could you report on those that they mentioned?
Part of the problem is I’m not sure which the shop is discontinuing and which Lutens is discontinuing (or withdrawing to the exclusive range). The one that concerned me was Borneo (but I think they are just running out of their stock of this limited edition export – and the same with Fumerie Turque). Then there was Miel de Bois, Chypre Rouge, Sa Majeste la Rose and I think Koubla Khan. Also either Datura Noir or Douce Amere – unfortunately I always get the names confused.

The only one on your list that I really love (and have only in a decant) is Miel de Bois, but my understanding was that it was called discontinued long time ago but is still and only available in Paris.

Yeah, its hard to keep the stories straight! I think you are right with the MdB, but that, along with a few other ltds have still been available here for a while. Apparently Cuir Mauresque was a ltd release once but I’m afraid I’v not seen it. I do love the wax sample.
I’m pretty much indifferent to it all but I would be quite shocked if Chergui were to be discontinued. I always assumed it was a best-seller (hay-tobacco-honey-rose, what else could anyone want!)
None of these are even remotely still available in Aus, and neither the euro or us site ships here, so my only hope is a long expensive holiday… we only have the common export ones, and only at 1 shop.
Perthgirl, have you checked Fragrancenet? I’ve seen some SL there occasionally, and I think they ship worldwide. It’s worth a try, anyway.
Laurels, yep, fragnet and fragx are where most of mine are from (am gutted that someone snaffled ‘my’ cheap Bois de Violette! 🙁 ) but they have a similar range to what’s here- all the ltd release ones I want- no chance
Wearing Angel Parfums de Cuir today. I don’t usually go without fragrance, though occasionally I get in a rush and forget to put anything on before I leave my apartment. The times I skip it intentionally are if I’m going to be doing something outdoorsy where I’ll want to smell outdoorsy things and not myself, or if I’m going to be cleaning at home. In those cases, I usually want to shower after anyway, and then I put something on after the shower.
Sweetgrass, I haven’t come across any of these more limited editions but do they smell at all like Alien Essence Absolue? I see that some of the reviews of Alien EA mention some of these others…
Merlin, I’m pretty sure I’ve smelled Alien EA, but it’s been a long time, so I don’t remember how it differs from regular Alien. The Parfums de Cuir series took Alien and Angel (and maybe Womanity too, but I’m not sure), and basically aged the regular formula in leather so the scents would take on a leather note. So Alien PdC is regular Alien with leather, so it might not really smell much like Alien EA.
But again, I always found Alien more difficult to wear than Angel, so my familiarity with the different versions is kind of limited. Someone who is more familiar with both versions might have more to add here.
If I may chime in here, Alien Essence Absolue is like thick, golden sunshine in a bottle. It is gorgeous and some might say superior to the original fragrance. No other Alien flanker is anything like it, though honestly, I like them all, I only own the original and the Absolue.
I haven’t smelled the Cuir, but I love the original and the EA. I think I’ve smelled at least two others, but the only one I remember by name is Aqua Chic, which I thought was boring–like a really watered-down barely-Alien. The reviews I’ve seen suggest that if you like Alien, you can’t go wrong with any of the flankers except Aqua Chic.
Actually the only Alien I like on me is the Essence Absolue – not even the original. The leather/gourmand/floral ltds sound very nice but I’v not seen them.
And now that I know how the leather one is done I’m ok with not smelling it. I like the leather notes in perfume but I’v never heard of them using actual leather to attain them 😮

Wearing Diptyque Philosykos. Sometimes I find it a little bit sweet, but today is nice and fresh.
I am jealous of all your vacations. I was convinced that nobody takes vacations … Enjoy!
My vacations normally involve me having some alone time or a nap at home! I’m a good mental traveler. 😉
Yeah, we just need to re-conceptualize what is meant by vacation, and then enjoy it 🙂
And I believe that being mentally present is waaaaaaay too overrated :p

SOTD is Hermès 24 Rue Faubourg EDP, over Crabtree and Evelyn Iris body lotion. I own a body butter by C&E as well but I think I prefer the lotion texture and weight for summer, even though my skin is perennially dry despite the constant humidity of my seaside city. Iris and Rue Faubourg mix well also – the ambery orange blossoms of RF sometimes strike me as too coiffed and lady-who-lunches but the added tingly woods and sweet violets of the body cream made it a bit more approachable. I also tried on Penhaligon Artemisia as it was on sale, but it smelled an awful lot like musky paper or dried leaves on me – not unpleasant, but nothing I need a bottle of.
I love the C&E lotions: the pumps work nicely and they spread and absorb really well. Strangely, I prefer the Iris lotion to the EDT – for some reason it smells better to me. I also have, and enjoy the Lavender lotion which may be slightly thicker.
And, surprise surprise I have a 15ml bottle of 24 RF, but find it so contrary to my personality that though I like it, I hardly ever wear it. I’m definitely going to try this combo!
Oh let me know what you think! I’ve experimented with layering it with several of my more austere fragrances and I rather like the results – it’s unobtrusive but distinct.
Wearing Vittoria Apuana by Profumi Del Forte today. Beachy, very summery scent. I had to take breaks from perfume when I was pregnant. Couldn’t stand any of my beloved perfumes, I was like a blood hound, and was bothered by most scents around me. Unwashed hair on a person passing buy could make me sick.
I’m in my last month of pregnancy. I really thought I’d enjoy the heightened sense of smell but instead nothing smells pleasant anymore. Flowers, soap, barbecue, grass, cookies,…anything can be gross if I smell it today.
Ugh, I so remember that!
But soon you will enjoy scents again. And the precious scent of new born babies heads… Aaah 🙂
Mine is the Comme des Garçons fragrance that smells of Aleppo soap. Laurel or something. It’s good, I don’t wear it often enough.

Anyway, I don’t take intentional breaks from perfume but sometimes I get distracted in the morning and forget. That happens with jewelry too. Either way, I feel lost without them.
I wore Reglisse Noir today and it just didn’t work for me like it normally does. Maybe it’s the humidity but usually it really is great in the heat. Today, I wasn’t liking it much.
Apparently there’s a lot of flooding not too far from here but so far this afternoon we’ve had barely a shower. Very strange weather.
I’m that weirdo who would actually love a vacation with pouring rain. I have never slept as good as I do when there’s a severe thunderstorm. It sounds glorious.
SOTD is commando due to loss of fragrance appeal in pregnancy. (Which should be a recognized medical condition IMHO.) But even before pregnancy I took regular breaks from perfume. I never feel fully dressed until I’ve sprayed something, and Just the same, if I don’t get dressed I rarely spray. I love my lazy days. I probably get too many of them, especially on Sundays in the fall, but I love them. Spending a day in my jammies watching TV with Mr. Lucy is probably my favorite pastime.
SOTD: Nassomatto China White! I needed an assertive fragrance for this new computer program we installed at work!
Tomorrow may have to be Black Afghano.

SOTD was Mona di Orio Musc. I have a mini manufacturer’s roll-on and it is the only roll-on I’ve tried that lasts all day.
I almost went commando, but ended up wearing Fate. Dia was right next to my bottle of Fate and I almost wore that, but since I’m in a training class decided to go with Fate which wears a bit closer to skin.
I do skip fragrance on some days- usually weekends when I’m doing chores or too lazy to get dressed to leave the house. Sometimes I sample on those days if info wear scent.
Some of my favorite scents are becoming undetectable to my nose (scent familiarity perhaps) so a few days off helps. I recently went a week without perfume trying to determine if perfume was irritating my skin (it was not). I didn’t like that week at all!
Today’s SOTD is vintage Bal in EDP form. I adore it’s skank and I’m not fond of vintage Bal in parfum, I think it’s the patchouli that gets to me. It looks like Dia is gonna be tomorrow’s SOTD. But I might change my mind.
I’ll wear Dia too. We can be twins!
SOTD is Coty Wild Musk, which like so many musks disappeared almost immediately on me. The ten minutes or so that I got of the top notes was quite nice, though. My uncle, who can smell it, says it smells good. Well, maybe somebody will want it at the next Freebiemeet.
I took the Wild Musk out of my untried sample box today because I was home, and was afraid of trying something I might not be able to (can’t, as it turns out) smell out on public. Tomorrow it’s back to random samples, and between Hajusuuri, Floragal, and the lovely Karin, I have a box full of exciting things to draw from!
And to answer Robin’s question, I never take a break from perfume voluntarily. I rarely forget,and I have a travel spray and usually a sample or two in my purse. Unless I’m sick to my stomach or undergoing some medical procedure which explicitly forbids it, I’m wearing perfume. In fact, I’m about to spray something I CAN smell over the Coty Wild Musk. I just need to stay away from family members other than my mom, from whom I apparently inherited my musk anosmia.
