J by Jennifer Aniston ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 8 July 2014 7 Comments

J by Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has launched J by Jennifer Aniston. It is the star's second fragrance; her first was the eponymous Jennifer Aniston.

J by Jennifer Aniston is a sensual feminine scent with an energizing spirit of the beach. Combining salty freshness and sun-kissed warmth, this lovely women's fragrance will be a spritz of luxurious [sic].

The notes feature bergamot, water lily, salty marine accord, magnolia, freesia, jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla and musk.

J by Jennifer Aniston is available now at Kohls, in 30 and 85 ml Eau de Parfum and in a 10 ml rollerball.

Was her first fragrance really a hit? There are very few celebrity fragrances that I like because they all seem to be the same to me. As much as I like Jennifer Aniston, I don’t feel that there will be anything special about this scent. To me, it’s like a new scent being released by BBW. Just my opinion.

It was fine, but no, not a big hit at all.

The gardenia and jasmine notes of the first JA caught my attention so I picked up a bottle for a really good price as a blind buy. While the staying power isn’t the best, it is really, really pretty and easy to wear. I liked it so much I went back and bought another bottle since the price was so right.

I don’t know about this one, though. It sounds awfully air freshener-like to me, but I avoided trying the first one for years and actually ended up liking it so who knows? I’ll give it a sniff and perhaps will be pleasantly surprised.

I would be shocked if as much effort was put into this one as the original…but yes, who knows!

I like Jen and the notes in her first fragrance, which included jasmine, were pretty cool. The only sour note was the advertising…they had her pretty near nakid and crouching on a rock…it was in the spirit of the ads relief organizations run where they try and get people to “adopt” a third world child for $20-$30 per month. I didn’t know if Jen was looking for sponsors…I imagine the cost of supporting her for a month would be, oh, $100-$200 thousand, right?
