Demeter Provence Meadow ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 May 2014 8 Comments

Demeter Provence Meadow

Demeter has launched Provence Meadow, the latest addition to their Fragrance Library. Other recent launches from Demeter include Orange Blossom and Daffodil.

Provence Meadow by Demeter Fragrance Library is a soft green scent, informed by the Herbs of Provence, including Fennel, Basil, Rosemary and Thyme, as well as leaves of Lavender.

While we normally think of Herbs of Provence in their dried form for cooking, in typical Demeter fashion, we use fresh, living herbs to achieve this unique result.

Demeter Provence Meadow is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products.

Gosh, does that ever sound nice.

I still don’t understand why they haven’t done Tarragon, which of all the cooking herbs is the most wearable. (I’ve rubbed fresh tarragon between my hands just so I could have it on my skin.) I mean, they’ve got Basil, for god’s sake, and at least tarragon wouldn’t make you smell like pesto.

Hey, it might well be on the list…presumably by the time it’s all done they’ll have a full spice (& herb) cabinet.

I feel the same way about marjoram. it smells like a sexy men’s cologne to me.

If they substituted parsley and sage for the fennel and basil, they could have used Scarborough Fair for the soundtrack.

This sounds right up my street! Have been searching for a new signature scent to replace my much loved, worn for years, Eau de Camille, now sadly discontinued. Will be in the US next week for a fortnight, so will search this out.

It just came out and it’s hard to find a complete selection of Demeter in stores….you might be best off ordering a mini online.

Thank you for the tip, Robin. I can always order online when I get home if I can’t find it in the US. Demeter difficult to find in the UK in general, impossible where I live!
