Demeter Orange Blossom & Daffodil ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 22 March 2014 5 Comments

Demeter Orange Blossom

Demeter has launched two new spring florals for 2014: Orange Blossom and Daffodil. Other recent launches from the brand include White Musk Studio, Silvery Tip Pekoe and Baihao Yinzhen Tea.

Celebrate the blooming beauty of Spring 2014 with this enchanting floral duo. Evocative notes will awaken your deepest winter-stupefied senses, with two new feminine floral scents that can be worn alone or together.

Orange Blossom
Extracted from the white flowers of the Orange Tree, and a traditional element used in perfume making, this is one of the most popular of flowers in perfume making. Our version is full, lush and exquisite. Just like the living flower on a gentle breeze on a warm summer's eve.

Daffodil
Daffodils come in many types and variations. We chose the Poeticus Daffodil for the heart of Demeter's Daffodil, creating a light, almost playful floral scent with hints of greenery. Very feminine and slightly sweet, Daffodil is in the tradition of other Demeter floral scents that are inspired by the living flower, not a concentrated, perfumed version of Daffodil.

Daffodils are known by other names, including Narcissus and Jonquil. Daffodils are linked to the Greek myth of Narcissus, who became so obsessed with his own reflection that as he knelt and gazed into a pool of water, he fell into the water and drowned, and the narcissus plant sprang from where he died.

Demeter Orange Blossom is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products.

Demeter Daffodil is currently only available as part of a set with 30 ml bottles of Orange Blossom and Daffodil, $29. It will be available in other sizes and formats in April.

Has anyone smelled these? I may have to break my prohibition on blind buying.

Might have a go at Daffodil – wore Nicolai’s Le Temps d’Une Fete for many years, now sadly discontinued, as are a few of my long time favourites!

Decent narcissus fragrances are hard to come by. If it’s great stuff, let us know!

That Nicolai frag is still on LuckyScent’s web site, so perhaps it isn’t too late for you?
