Coca Cola Le Parfum

Coca Cola Le Parfum

Designer Wonchan Lee answers the burning question: what would perfumes from Coca Cola look like? They're concept designs, but hey, I bet I am not the only perfumista who would buy one. Find more images at Concept: Coca-Cola Le Parfum at The Dieline. Hat tip to Pyramus!

I don’t even (hardly ever) drink soda, and I think those are adorable! I want the glass to have a little more texture, though–more like those old glass bottles you’d collect and recycle and they’d reuse at the bottling plants. I liked how the glass would get etched from washing and reuse. Oh, and I want old school labels!

They’re really cute. They’re probably meant as some commentary that I don’t care about — I just want a Tab perfume 🙂

Ooh! Would it have a cola note?

Well, if you could call a “Tab note” a “cola note”. Tab didn’t really smell like cola, right? Weirdest chemical taste ever.

Gosh. Now you say that, I realize I have NO memory of actually tasting/smelling Tab! Did I ever drink it? I remember having Diet Rite around the house as a kid. . . and gallons of Diet Pepsi! (My step-mom was clearly an addict. :] )

Ah, Diet Rite also had a weird chemical taste, but quite different from Tab.

To me, Tab is that nasty stuff that diabetic gramma would drink during summer vacation visits. 😀

Lol! Ioved Tab and Diet Rite! Also RC Cola.
        The bottles are cute.

I am sort of disappointed that these aren’t real. Do you remember the supposedly original coca cola recipe from This American Life? It definitely could be the basis for a great perfume. It was loaded with essential oils and even had some neroli thrown in.

Colas nowadays have basically three elements: lemon-lime, cinnamon, and vanilla (plus of course other additions that distinguish them from one another). That would make a smashing perfume.

I don’t understand why Demeter hasn’t done one yet. They have a Gingerale that is absolutely brilliant — not only does it smell just like the real thing, it even smells carbonated, which is so weird and counterintuitive that people laugh when they smell it. Demeter really ought to do a whole palette of carbonated-soft-drink scents: cola, lemon-lime soda, root beer, cream soda… Better yet, partner with Coca-Cola or Pepsi and brand the whole line as they did with Junior Mints and Jolly Rancher: I’d buy every one. I really want a Mountain Dew scent!

I’ll have to try that ginger ale scent. Hopefully it doesn’t smell too much like a sick day though.

On the flip side, how about sodas based on perfumes? Which perfumes could make the transition to drinkable form? I would nominate eau de l’occitan. Lavender, nutmeg and black pepper could work very well as a soda. Prada candy would be an obvious choice too.

No, the Demeter is really lovely! One of the few from the brand that I own in the large size.

          And great idea!

Didn’t CdG do a soda perfume in their synthetic series? Has anyone smelled it?

Yes, Soda, in the Synthetic series! It’s like 7-Up.

Yes — loved that episode of TAL!

It is odd there aren’t more cola perfumes.

I like about a half-glass of Coke weekly with pizza or a burger or something, but I like this and I actually love the renderings of the bottles.

I had to give up Diet Coke. I was intensely addicted. I still dream about it, more than I dream about cigarettes! I swear there is something nefarious in there 😯

I was addicted to both at one time too, had to give them up. I dream of a Diet Coke and a Camel every blue moon but I just think of how cigarettes lost their flavor after a while of smoking and I stunk all the time. Glad you too were able to kick those habits! We smell lovely now and don’t have blood cells full of Nutrasweet!
