Parfums DelRae Wit ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 14 March 2014 13 Comments

Parfums DelRae Wit

Parfums DelRae has launched Wit, a new fragrance centered on daphne. It is DelRae's first launch since 2010's Panache.

I have always loved to walk. Regardless of where I am, I love to be able to walk from place to place. I discovered the gorgeous, beguilingly fresh Daphne on one such stroll many years ago. It was late February and I was stunned and captivated by these small, intensely fragrant flowers.

Daphne is one of the first flowers to bloom in early spring. Its delicious lemony, neroli scent is such a surprise and delight in the chill and gray of winter. Such a bright and spirited presense. I knew at some point I would devote a perfume in celebration of this very lovely bloom that signals Spring, love and happiness. — DelRae Roth

Wit was developed by perfumer Yann Vasnier. The notes include meyer lemon, green mandarin, angelica, laurel nobile, daphne cneorum, jasmine, narcissus, mimosa, ylang ylang, amber, vanilla and velvet musk.

Parfums DelRae Wit is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $150.

This sounds lovely; too bad Barneys stopped carrying the line so that I could just hop over for a sniff

Oh no, did they? What a shame. Really looking forward to this one, I’d thought maybe they were done.

Yes, but in doing so they knocked 50% or more off their prices. Some of us came out of that decision very happy. 🙂

Ah, actually now this is ringing a bell…pretty sure I tried to get a bottle of Panache and it was already gone.

I never heard about this flower, sounds really interesting. I was already wondering if the line was going to be continued because some stores stopped carrying it. Love the name, by the way!

Yes, had heard rumors they were finished. Really glad to see this, and yes, Wit is a good name.

Winter Daphne is the one plant that stops me in my tracks and beckons me in for a sniff. Why haven’t I planted one in my yard?? This might become a weekend project.

DelRae is so good at naming fragrances and describing their inspirations: vivid, evocative, and totally sensible.

This is exciting news! An ultimately unsuccessful search for a daphne fragrance was my entrée into the perfumista world. Maybe this is the one that will do the plant justice!

Great news! I look forward to testing. Bois de Paradise is one of my favorites 🙂

I’m really looking forward to this too. I actually just smelled that lemony Daphne for the first time yesterday while here in Portland on a trip. I’m also a fan of DelRae.

I’m such a DelRae fan–line and person–and have always wondered what Daphne smells like since friends rave about it. But what I’m really excited about is the Meyer Lemon note, which I’ve been hoping for forever from a CA perfumer. Fingers crossed.
