Providence Perfume Co Samarinda ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 24 February 2014 8 Comments

Providence Perfume Co Samarinda

Indie natural line Providence Perfume Co has launched Samarinda, a new spicy oriental unisex fragrance presumably named for the city in Borneo. Providence Perfume Co's last launch was 2013's Branch & Vine.

An exotic journey begins with top notes of pink peppercorn, sweet orange and cardamom. A heart of carnation, heliotrope and Sumatrian [sic] coffee gives way to sweet scotch, leather with rum ether, vanilla, oakwood and roasted seashell.

Additional notes include jasmine rice and orange blossom.

Providence Perfume Co Samarinda can be found now at Twisted Lily, in 15 and 30 ml Eau de Parfum.

This sounds very interesting but I don’t do heliotrope. Bummer.

I’m really looking forward to this one — rum & coffee 🙂

Me too Robin – love the two notes! Altough, the other Providence Perfume with coffee listed – Musk Noveau – was the only disappointment i had from the brand when i tried their lovely creations.

And since we speak of coffee, i suggest you trying Milano Caffee from Profumo.it. I guess you will like it 🙂

Yes, Kevin loved that one too! I did try Tawaf, that’s a fabulous scent, but haven’t come across a sample of MC yet.

Well, “roasted seashell” accord is a new one to me.

It’s actually used in a fair number of natural perfumes…

The spicy notes sound promising, but I’ve sampled several from this line and the same unpleasant (to my nose) earthy note overwhelms everything 🙁

Sorry! I love the earthy notes 🙂
