Hermès has launched Jour D'Hermès Absolu, a new variation on 2012's Jour d'Hermès fragrance for women. Like the original, Jour D'Hermès Absolu was developed by Hermès house perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena.

“Femininity in perfume form!” Wow, it’s about time perfumers came up with that concept.
Sarcasm aside, the original is quite pretty, if fleeting, so if this one is more long-last and not too vastly expensive, sign me up.
I kept meaning to go try the Extrait but never did…hopefully it’s still at Nordstrom. But surprised, the original makes it through most of the day on me.
Loved the opening of the original Jour, but the extremely tenacious musky drydown ended up getting on my nerves.
The drydown was a total disappointment to me, too. It started off so lovely, but sort of fell apart after the first 15 minutes. I started smelling like potpourri, which is really attractive, let me tell you. :-/
Yes, the original grips my skin for hours too, and not in a good way. To me it was always rather sour and weedy. I can sense a honeyed warmth in their somewhere, but it never gets a chance to develop. A bit like getting momentary glimpses of the sun on an otherwise chilly, cloudy day.
I’ll give the new one a try though.

Is this supposed to be another version of the extrait but without the musk base?
Well, it’s not in extrait…but really I don’t know the relationship of the 3, and never tried the extrait.
Robin, do you know when this might make it to the USA? And where? I disliked the celery-like note of the original? And it gave me a headache. But it was so beautiful apart from that one note. I’m excited about this new one, with only floral notes!
Despite the quote, I do not think they mean there are literally no non-floral notes in this version.
I don’t know when, sorry. But my guess is that your best bet is a Hermes boutique, following that, Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom. Or keep an eye on the Hermes website maybe.
