Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2014, part 1

Posted by Robin on 12 January 2014 14 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today’s post includes a Chanel purse, Art Editions of Yves Saint Laurent’s L’Homme series, a Valentine’s Day edition of Repetto Le Parfum, the Marchesa Awards Season Collector’s Edition and special editions of Bond no. 9’s I Love New York with heart-charm necklaces.

Not perfumes, but worth seeing: the perspex “perfume” clutch bags from Chanel’s Cruise Collection 2014 (see pictures here of Rihanna carrying both bags). Exclusive to Chanel boutiques, where they’re reportedly around $9500. (via Harper’s Bazaar at Facebook) If you missed them, see the similar styles by Charlotte Olympia here…

Our most comforting outdoorsy smell

Posted by Robin on 12 January 2014 4 Comments

Similar to the swap meets (and with like rules)*, but instead of trading your unloved perfume bottles and samples, just give them away to a good home. If there’s sufficient interest, we’ll do these twice a year. Then our first split meet (to arrange bottle splits) will be on Saturday, February 8, and I’ll post the rules for that the week before. The next swap meet is Saturday, March 15.

Meanwhile, today, our standard-issue open thread poll: talk about anything you like — the perfume you’re wearing today, the perfume you can’t bring yourself to buy even though you want it, whatever.

Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

Actress Kristen Stewart talks about Balenciaga Rosabotanica, and gets decorated with flowers for the photo shoot. We also hear briefly from the perfumers: Olivier Polge and Jean-Christophe Herault.

If you missed it, here's the video she did for the original Florabotanica fragrance.
