Dolce & Gabbana have launched Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana, a new fragrance for women. Other recent launches from the brand include Velvet Desert Oud & Velvet Tender Oud and Dolce & Gabbana Intense (all 2013).
Dolce: the new fragrance that heralds an emotional and sensory journey through the heart of DOLCE&GABBANA's DNA: the noble land of Sicily. Dolce is a gentle, feminine mix of white flowers, introduced by the freshness of the Neroli leaves and defined by the White Amaryllis, a South African flower used for the first time ever in scent.
The notes feature papaya blossom, neroli leaves, white amaryllis, daffodil, water lily, cashmeran and musk.
Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana is available now at Saks, in 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Pretty bottle!
Yes…just want to know what that cap is made of. Hope it is solid & not vinyl.
Vinyl would be bad…& would be well on their way to becoming like the dreaded Vera Wang bottles.
I hope not. Knowing how Dolce & Gabbana operate, I’m guessing not. If there’s anything they do well in the mass market fragrance segment, it’s the packaging. They always go for heavy bottles, good quality caps. Desire is one heavyweight bottle, and it actually looks luxurious. Same for the new Pour Femme fragrances. They do have a plastic cap, but the bottles are heavy glass. Quite nice actually. And I like their recent releases smellwise as well.

I saw the bottle yesterday at Saks and the top is made really well. Heavy but I don’t know what the material is. It was not plastic. A nice flower design (ivory in color) with a touch of pink in the middle.
The top is much better than the juice inside. Another nondescript watery floral fruit concoction. Disappointing.

I gently and respectfully disagree on it being Nondescript. It, I found, was Pretty and Feminine and quite Lovely. But again as i said earlier… i think i usually am in the major minority in what i find Beautiful from most here….
I always appreciate and like the elegance of their bottles.
I can’t believe my eyes. The first Dolce & Gabbana pillar fragrance in 9 years! The concept looks unrisky however and reminds of Gucci Flora a lot.
They do so many side series & flankers, it’s easy to forget they don’t do many pillars. I look forward to smelling it, but could be awhile since at the moment it’s only at Saks.
Smelled this During My Christmas shopping at Saks and It Smells Quite Lovely! It’s a Sweet Floral, Smells like there is some Sweet Pea And/Or Lily-Of-The-Valley in it… the Display was a solid cap but it was the display the sample bottle had no top so couldn’t say. I was wondering what this was exactly when I saw it, hadn’t heard anything about it and was wondering if it was a limited edition or what have you… So if you can get to Saks… Give it a sniff… I Like it! But what I usually like most feel different about so… good luck! 🙂

Wait. I’m confused–since when did a trip through Sicily include a path through South Africa? Or do the Sicilians plant a lot of South African flowers? Seems like the ad copy folks didn’t talk with the fragrance notes folks before they released this.
I was trying to figure that out as well. Maybe its the educators in us that makes us analyze every detail. (LOL).
But, I am quite curious to smell what “White Amaryllis” is like.
Actually, the Moors did travel and settle frequently in Sicily and Italy during the Renaissance, forming liaisons and marriages with the native people. They may have introduced plants native to Africa. Shakespeare used this fact in his play “Othello”, so I don’t think this is unreasonable although I am not sure if D&G were that interested in history or just wanted to play with notes in the scent.
I just knew those two years of college Italian would not be wasted.
They bring a lot of historical & cultural elements into their fashion collections, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were actually interested in the historical background.
There is something really atractive on this launch to me. I like the name, the cap (which seems to be made of resin), the green color and the notes. I just hope it’s a green fresh floral aroma, i love this fragrance genre.
