Burberry will launch Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women in January. Brit Rhythm for Women is the feminine counterpart to the Brit Rhythm for Men fragrance which launched earlier this year, and like that scent was inspired by rock music. It is described as having "a rock ’n’ roll edge" with "powdery softness".
Brit Rhythm for Women was developed by perfumers Nathalie Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu. The notes include English lavender, pink pepper, neroli, orris, blackberry leaves, orange blossom, petalia (peony molecule), vetiver, vetiver, musks and woods. Per Ms. Cetto,
We are very proud — this is the first feminine fragrance created around lavender. English lavender is more aromatic [than French], and it was important for us to have an English ingredient.
Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women will be available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette.

Oh, there are tons of lavender fragrances for women, that part is nonsense. So far as I can remember though, there aren’t any others at the moment on mainstream department store counters.
Funny, I’m wracking my brain now trying to think of a mainstream (I don’t really think of Caron as a Sephora-mainstream brand) feminine perfume built on lavender (checked – technically Caron’s above is unisex) but all I can come up with is the come-and-gone Jennifer Lopez from a few years ago, My Glow. Pretty certain it was built around lavender. Everything else that comes to mind seems to be unisex or discontinued. Can’t remember if Tauer’s lavender scent is unisex or feminine either.
Lavanila has a Vanilla Lavender. Jo Malone has Amber & Lavender. As was just pointed out on FB, Sonia Rykiel Belle en Rykiel. Jean Patou Ma Liberte. Caswell Massey Lavender. Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender. Vero Profumo Kiki. L’Occitane Lavender.
I have the Vanilla Lavender by Lavanila and enjoy it quite a bit (though their Vanilla Passionfruit is my favorite, hands down!). Many of those others sound intriguing, though–especially the Amber & Lavender!–so I may need to track down samples 😉
Even Bath and Body Works has Moonlight Path, which is a floral blend, but with one of the central notes being lavender.
Brain clearly broken as I forgot Lavandula, which is in my bathroom cabinet!!
Chanel Jersey is lavender based, but I guess that isn’t mainstream enough?

Jersey is women’s. For Canada, the exclusives of Chanel are only available at one retailer in 3 locations nationally. No one else has them here.
Then they need to write that, lavender isn’t groundbreaking, lol. Oh brother.
When I was younger, I used to associate lavender with women’s fragrance, but now I see it as something more masculine and herbal. It strikes me as unusual to hear of something that’s not purely lavender scented when it’s marketed for women. When reading the notes in this fragrance, it does appear like it will be a bit more masculine/androgynous. The only thing that I find will make it or break it is the peony, depending on the concentration. Hope this smells nice!
It sounds like it is as much about peony as lavender anyway? We’ll see. Brit Rhythm Men was not inspiring.

None of the men at my office believe me when I tell them that lavender is considered a male fragrance note, they all associate with “guest soaps” and drawer liners.
As for this frangrance, I have a little trouble imagining most women icons in something soft and powdery.

Off the top of my head there was an interview with Courtney Love on Into The Gloss that had pics of her bedroom, and she had loads of Amouage and L’artisan and she also talked about By Kilian. I’ve also read in numerous places that both Joan Jett and Shirley Manson wear Nahema.

It’s interesting to me that the only Burberry I’ve really liked was the original Burberry for Men: it was like a cozy cashmere sweater–one that I’d nicked from the husband’s “just worn once/not dirty enough to throw in the laundry” pile, newly discarded, still warm, and with traces of his soap/shampoo/deodorant lingering in the fabric. I’d snuggle into it and fall asleep.
With the notes listed, I’m interested in testing out this one, but as mentioned by others “we’ll see” is my current mindset 😉
I used to really like Baby Burberry – a soft slightly minty floral milk jelly – which sounds weird but it reminded me of a milky jelly pudding I had in Japan years and years ago. I haven’t sniffed it recently, but it still seems to be at the discounters.
You’re the only person I know who comments on this blog who mentioned Baby Burberry! I loved it as well? Did yours come in a rocking bottle and an outer terry cloth pouch with an embroidered lamb?
I also liked Burberry Brit Sheer, pre-perfumista days. I used my first bottle down to the last drop but my 2nd bottle is still shrink-wrapped.
That’s right – I must have had mine in the early 2000’s. from what I remember MUA was having a baby perfume phase – Givenchy’s Ptisenbon scents, Bvlgari Baby, that sort of thing. Even Fresh had Baby Mukki – sort of a honeydew-milky scent.
It’s Joan Jett mixed with a little Carrie Underwood. No thanks:).
