Up for grabs: DS & Durga Bowmakers

Posted by Robin on 25 November 2013 74 Comments — Comments are closed

DS & Durga Bowmakers

What is it: a 30 ml bottle of DS & Durga Bowmakers. It has been lightly tested and is 95% full.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. Then tell me either a) your favorite indie fragrance, or b) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Friday, and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

I live in the U.S. and like many indie brands, like Sonoma Scent Studio and the company that makes Rume. I also would like to get more into natural perfumes and I am using Illuminated Perfume and Elan Perfume to get me started.

I live in the U.S. and you have permission to use my email:). It’s hard for me to pick a fave indie fragrance thus far, there are so many good ones. I don’t have a fave perfume in general, some are higher on the list…but I like the vast variety out there to much to pick a favorite!

I live in the US, and have been looking to try Bowmakers, it sounds wonderful!

My favorite indie fragrance is Cafe Noir by Ava Luxe. I love many from this line (Sweet Absinthe, Kretek, Amande) but Cafe Noir is the coffee fragrance I always wanted. Dark and woody without a mocha/sweet vibe. Just perfect.

I live in the USA. I love Demeter fragrances, mainly because they are so inexpensive. There is such a wide variety, and they last surprisingly long on my skin, especially since they are colognes. I am also starting to buy scents from Margot Ellena. Strangely enough, they don’t last as long on my skin as Demeter fragrances do, although they are edp. Also, I just got a copy of “Perfumes: the A to Z guide” and I am going to spend next year exploring some of the top rated fragrances in the book.

Thanks as always Robin, for another great draw !

I live in the US, and you may use the email in my account to contact me.

It’s very hard for me to pick “one” niche fragrance, but if I had to pick a couple that I find I’m reaching for regularly, it would be La Via del Profumo Milano Caffe, and A Lab On Fire LiquidNight.

I love the idea of this DS & Durga Bowmaker’s frag. It sounds like it’s exactly what I gravitate towards. I have a couple of their other offerings and they are very well done, so my fingers are totally crossed that I win this time 🙂

I live in New York City in the United States. I love this line. I was at a friend’s wedding brunch a year ago and I actually met the wife that creates the line with her husband. I raved to her about “Bowmakers” and my favorite of the line and the one that I wear, “Burning Barbershop”, which I love for it’s medicinal/fire kindling wood beautiful scent. I always go in to the shop by me that carries the entire line range and smell the scents, I love the scents, but I have been out of Burning Barbershop for a year and have not replaced it as of yet. I tend to go back to my classics first (Van Cleef & Arpel Homme, Giorgio for Men, Montana Homme [red box], YSL Homme [original], YSL Homme Haute Concentree’ [original], so forth, I rarely leave my fragrance comfort zone except for Comme des Garcons and Costume National. I think my next purchase is going to be Black by Comme des Garcons. I purchased a new wallet at the Chelsea store 2 weeks ago and I finally smelled Black. It smells amazing and a Christmas must have for me along with a full bottle refill of my classic Rocabar by Hermes.

I have trouble keeping up with indie brands–especially since they can be hard for me to get my hands on anyway. I have to say though, Tauer continues to be my favorite indie line, in part because his blogging makes it feel accessible.

I live in the US. Thanks for the draw!

I live in the US, and just recently had the opportunity to sample my first DS & Durga, Silent Grove. It’s a lovely and aptly named scent, and reminds me of CdG Zagorsk. I am a big fan of indie perfumers, so choosing a favorite is hard, but if I have to choose just one, it would be Dawn Spencer Hurwitz’s sublime Oeillet Rouge. Thanks for the opportunity!

  64. Sniffit says:

I live in the US and you have my permission to use the email address in my account. My favorite indie perfume so far is Prince by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz. It’s dark, smoky and somehow quiet, very unusual. I do regret not grabbing DS & Durga’s Shake, Shake, Shake Senora when it was available. When they say say limited time, they really mean it!

I do live in the US. I must have been living under a rock as I just recently learned of indie scents while exploring NST. I just realized that Sweet Anthem is located close to where I work. I’ve driven by a couple times and hope to catch them open soon. I am also interested in the products from Sonoma Scent Studio. I’ve been wanting to post a comment asking for suggestions for a woody scent so this giveaway fragrance sounds amazing. (Love Tam Dao…although I don’t think that counts as an indie scent).
