Nu Be Sulphur & Mercury ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 25 September 2013 4 Comments

Nu_Be Sulphur and Mercury

Italian niche line Nu_Be will launch Sulphur and Mercury, two more fragrances in the "olfactory periodic table" that already includes Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Carbon and Oxygen.

Sulphur ~ "Sulphur represents the demonic spirit, the darkness. A juice coming from the shadows, a satanic elixir… Notes revealing the bowels of the earth…Nothing is pure, a fragrance evoking hellish potions: Warm spicy accord of pimento, cinnamon and black angelica Earthy and root notes of vetiver, patchouli and moss Animalic character of costus and castoreum And deep resins like opoponax and myrrh.”

Mercury ~ “My inspiration comes from the fact Mercury is a fluid element, not a solid. I wanted to give the impression of a shiny and bright fluidity with metallic inflections, but very clean ones… It had to be a fragrance with a strong impact because Mercury for me is dynamic and evokes modernity and technology. I’ve played with a metal effect twisted with a clean, technological and dynamic aspect in order to translate my idea of Mercury in an odor. For the metal effect I’ve created an oxide accord, while a mix of aldehydes, rhubarb and mandarin reproduce the clean dynamic and technological character. The dry-down is woody with notes of cedar wood and sandalwood.”

Nu_be Sulphur and Mercury will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

    Oh dear!
Sulphur in the name, “bowels” in the description.
Why, do I drink tea while reading those things.
    Keyboard clean-up time!

I hadn’t heard of this brand until that diagnostic that a perfume store in Paris that Angela wrote about in her post (Nose) has recommended two of them. I like the sound of Sulphur more than the two they recommended. As long as it is supposed to be an abstract representation and not actually smell like sulfur.
